Since it is being heavily discussed on other forums, I wanted to bring it here. I am sure many of you remember this case, I do. The similarities between these two cases are quite staggering actually.

There is an extensive write up here: http://joana-morais.blogspot.com/2008/05/aisenbergs-mccanns-10-years-ago.html (Thanks Joana!)

These are videos of a documentary of the case (Real Life Mysteries):

Prepare to be amazed!!

Thanks for the links Colomom. I stayed up late reading a lot of information on this case. I didn't watch the videos because we live in the boonies and still have dial-up.

I didn't recognize the name at first, but after reading the summary, I remember this case pretty well. Oddly, I believed the Aiesenbergs at the time. I remember thinking how cruel it was for the media to point out smiles they had, and making such a big deal about it. It was just a few years prior my mother had died, and while it was the saddest period in my life, people would try and cheer me up by saying silly things. I know I smiled the day my mother died, when my pregnant best friend came to the hospital in a purple dress and claimed to be a reincarnation of Barney. :) It's human nature to make a sad person feel better.

I'm on the fence with this one. I'd have to re-watch interviews with the Aisenbergs and see if I see them differently now.

Oh yes, IW you must see the videos. I think the crying (with no tears), the laughing with the cops (just days after) and the "feel" of their interactions speaks volumes about this couple. It really is creepy.

Let us know what you think once you see them.

P.S. Dial up sucks...I know.

I saw this show the other day and I could not believe the similarities! Particularly about the fund, the missing children campaign and overall the way the act!:eek::eek:

I remember the Aisenberg case, and I never thought they had anything to do with Samantha's disappearance. But after the wiretaps, I'm not so sure.

I just can't wrap my mind around parents deliberatly harming one child when they have others. I feel the same way about the Ramsey case and the Routier case.

In the McCann case, if Madeline had been given sedatives and she died of an accidental overdose, I guess I can understand wanting to cover it up. Or if she had severe autism or some other medical issue the parents didn't want to deal with, then I guess I can see them doing something awful.

I just really don't know what to think.

Being a U.K. resident, I have never heard of the Aisenberg case.

Thanks for bringing the matter here.

I see people claiming there are 'remarkable similarities' between the McCann case and the Aisenberg case.

I would put it rather differently.

I would say there are great similarities between the cases of all parents who have killled their child and then claimed abduction.

And there are a great many of those.

Including possibly other 'unsolved abductions' like the Ben Needham case.

I noted that in this case, there was a dog - the Aisenbergs' own - that didn't bark.

There was another famous, or rather, infamous case - also in the U.S. - where the key piece of evidence was a dog that didn't bark.

And of course the cadaver dogs may help in solving the riddle of poor Madeleine's 'disappearance'.

Did the Aisenbergs 'disappear' little Sabrina?

On what evidence has been presented here on YouTube, I would tend to vote 'Yes'. If I were on a jury and pressed as to whether there was 'reasonable doubt', I might acquit them

I thought the courts ordered Bennett to remove all his posts lie this fromt he internet?

I don't think the Aisenbergs had anything to do with the disappearance of their little girl Samantha.

I detest Bennett but how is he supposed to do this?
I have also never seen such an order, link please :)

The situation isn't helped by you resurrecting threads from 4 years ago and bringing them to attention

I loath myself for this, but here is a link to the document carter-ruck sent to the courts on Bennetts website. http://www.madeleinefoundation.org.uk/PDFs/Isobel Hudson Affidavit.pdf

If the tony bennett here is the Tony Bennett who keeps harrassing the McCanns (they are not his first victims) then why did he not contact websleuths, show him the order and as them to remove them. They banned him, and they are not unreasonable. Most of the rubbish on the internet about the mccanns seems to stem from him and/or his friends. Why the obsession with high profile cases. Also I keep hearing he is a retired solicitor, but I also read he was actually debarred for behaviour not befitting of a solicitor back in 2003, is that true?

I read your link. It is an affidavit and asking for Tony Bennett to be held in contempt. Where is the Order?

I cannot see an order either, just an affadavit asking for posts to be removed. I am surprised that he is still apparently trying to sell his leaflets!

Carter Ruck are an elite law firm, however are they being paid?

carter ruck in the uk are alledgedly working for free for the mccans, but their portuguese lawyers charge for their services in suing all and sundry in portugal and all paid by the find madeleine fund and the mccanns have not once won a case

Those videos seem to be deleted. All I remember from this case was the police wire taps where it seemed they let loose, and say something incriminating, does anyone remember what was said?

Threads on websleuths come up on internet searches, so it makes no difference if it is on page one or nine.

the affidivit mentions that the previous court order had told him to remove all comments he had made on the internet or do his best to. I am sure i read it on his own website too.

I seem to remember in the aisenberg case that the wire taps proved to be very controversial, because the transcripts were very damning and had them more or less admitting it, but when the judge ordered for the actual tapes to be played they were impossible to hear or make out and the judge said the transcript did not represent what was actually said. i cannot remember where I saw this though, so I could be thinking of another case.

I remember the mccanns along with the dowlers wrote to the PM to as them not to stop no win no fee legal fee arrangements, so I was not sure if carter ruck operated like this for them.
