Allison Baden-Clay - GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD #35

Yup - I fully understand that. But it was just the apparent hints that there was more knowledge than the rest had, and that it would be confronting to a jury. I understood when I went to the trouble to get myself verified that if I didn't, then I was restricted to posting nothing that could be construed as me having any expertise in my area. In other words, I had to post nothing that would pertain to my professional knowledge unless I was verified.

Maybe I misunderstood that, or maybe I just misunderstood the essence of Hawkins' post suggesting that there was more to this than meets the eye.

But never mind - I'm not trying to sleuth Hawkins - I enjoy his posts. It was just me wondering about the "confronting to the jury" bits....

I'll just have to wait (sigh) along with everyone else (sigh) unless I can pry any info out of my forensic contacts (sigh). If I don't stop this sighing, (sigh) I'm going to hyperventilate... :floorlaugh:

No hyperventilating doc...otherwise we'll have to call a doc...lol...

I think this pretty much sums it all up & it's on front page of every thread...

Further to Mountain Mists post earlier about running into the Detective in charge.

A family member lives in Warwick where the detective in charge is currently investigating the Gail Lynch murder. She was chatting with him the other night.

He says there is 100% no doubt of GBCs guilt and he is totally nailed.

The detective said that the key thing they noticed right away was that GBCs life was a facade, a concocted image to impress ... The acquired name, the need to live in a posh suburb beyond their means, just everything was designed to look good but with nothing underneath.
Yep, a real show pony.

The prying bit sounds good....

He wouldn't tell me any more. I heard it as meaning that the missing hands was a furfy, rumour and nothing more. His lips were tightly sealed despite my plying him with alcohol...lol

Thanks for this little dribble MM. I took it to mean the story about the missing hands was a nasty rumour, so forget it. In all honesty you'd think that missing hands would have been mentioned at the bail hearing? I personally don't believe for a second that Allison's hands were removed by GBC or anyone else. Gawd, for GBC to do something like that, he would need to have Googled it wouldn't he? :what:

Thanks for sharing MM!

Does anyone believe that more than one person may have involved in a premeditated way, with Allison's death? My feeling has been definitely yes to involvement of others, but AFTER the murder. However, I recently heard from a sensible source (I would still treat it as rumour of course, not fact) that there was indeed involvement of more than one, in terms of premeditation. I was a bit gobsmacked by this - does anyone have a view on this? I just can't see what they had to gain - the life insurance payout really isn't worth the risk taken in my opinion (especially not when shared!), so is there much more we don't know, I wonder...

If it was a planned thing, the others involved must be furious with GBC as he sure made a mess of things.

I personally would not be surprised at all if this is the case. And also as Mountain Mist indicated coming from QPS, that there is ALOT more to come out than what we may imagine. just my opinion only. :)

Remember there have been no reported sightings of GBC or his car/s at the Kenmore roundabout, just NBC. The police said something out of place in the vicinity of the Kenmore roundabout, didn't even mention cars, I think?

Rafting ground road doesn't have that many properties with frontage to the road. can't think why he'd be more unwilling to go through there than anywhere else.

I still think NBC might have got the wrong roundabout.

Actually I believe early on they were calling for anyone who had seen the family cars at the roundabout or at least the Captiva and Allison? I may be way off base. i will have to trawl through media links..

OOPSIE.. Marlywings, you are a gem, and already posted the above with link attatched..back in my hole..

Will GBC likely get a lesser sentence if he pleads guilty than if he pleads innocent and is then found guilty? I've heard this on TV shows, just wondering if it is relevant here.

What if he attempts to plead guilty just to manslaughter ("it was an accident")?

TGIF....work is getting in the way of my Websleuths fun!!!

Two words 'no chance'!! Not with all that we know never mind what DPP has! Premeditated IMO and he will get 25 yrs and can apply for the pension when he gets out.

Makara is the funny one. It's Friday. I want to see him dance again Makara! Repost?

I'd love to Possum but the mods have told me it's againt the rules so Banana Man will just have to keep on grooving in the folder I've named LOSER. :floorlaugh:

Y"Traffic was stopped for about 20 minutes on Friday night so police could time a white vehicle going around the Kenmore roundabout, and driving up Brookfield Rd, where the victim lived.

They earlier asked if anyone had seen the Baden-Clay family cars, a white Toyota Prado and a silver Holden Captiva, at or near the roundabout or leaving the family home."

Going on from the police tests with the white car Marly kindly reminded me of, I just thought of something that is compatible with a rumour mentioned that GBC was seen driving erratically along Brookfield road in the Prado (?).

What if GBC drove the Prado to Knemore roundabout to pick up his dad because the Captiva already had Allison in it? This is not where he asked to meet, IMO, but GBC guesses rightly he's at this roundabout. NBC gets in the Prado and after the discussion of the rendezvous misunderstanding, NBC tries to get out of GBC the reason for the call in the night and the request to not call him on the phone. GBC might be genuinely beside himself because he's just committed something unthinkable, or he might be putting it on, either way, as he explains it to his dad as they are driving back to Brookfield along Brookfield rd, the Prado is swerving all over the place because he's that upset ands it suits him to exaggerate it to his dad. Who knows he might have told NBC Allsion had committed suicide with a plastic bag and now they had to get rid of the body otherwise it'd look terrible for him and did he want his son to spend the next 20 years in Jail.

Afterwards they need to go back to the roundabout because that's where NBC parked his car - thus the long window of time.

good scenario Tbddi...do we know which direction the Prado was seen driving erratically in? Into Brookfield or out of? I dont recall hearing that GBC was driving, just the car? you've come up with some good thinking regarding the roundabout and the cars today thanks!!
sorry if this has already been addressed, just logged on

I suppose pulp you have not seen me in action with my Chinese cleaver, sharpened every week. Big ribs take me two good blows. A pig's tail like fingers I would be gentle with as I wouldn't want to damage the chopping board too much. I suppose what I am saying is it depends on what you use.

Ps no forensics for me just an avid foodie!!

:gasp:

Makara, whilst the hand rumour has stretched far and wide, I agree it is probably just that...rumour. BUT, when I consider it to be possible, and then consider the comments regarding no visible injury, it at first appears not possible. But, the fact is, if her hands were removed, they were removed after death, post mortem.MOO

wasn't the statement that she only had a chipped tooth referring to her injuries related to cause of death? because at the end of the day (in fact, the 11th day, you could say) she most certainly would have had a lot of injury to her body. I wonder whether any damage (man made or made by the elements) that occured to Allison's body post mortem was disregarded by the defense in their statement that she only suffered a chipped tooth?

feel like I have said this before

Can I just ask, in light of this apparent inside knowledge, how Hawkins knows this? I'm not trying to question his sources, but I note that he isn't a verified professional or insider, possibly through his own choice, which is fine.

But to hint that there is something that we don't know about that will be confronting to a jury is perhaps a little teasing?

Having said that, I have noted from his posts that he does seem to have a good legal slant on things - just wondering why he isn't a verified professional on here? In which case, how seriously do we take these "hints"?

If he DOES have a bit of inside running on the case, then shouldn't he verify that so it can be taken in that context by everyone else? Otherwise it's no more or less than the same conjecture than the rest of us come up with....

Nothing personal - just curious?

Doc I am going to assume that you have been reading from the beginning - I am quite surprised by your question to be honest.
Hawkins as has already been stated, has answered a lot of legal questions on here for members.
Verification has never come into it for me - his knowledge speaks for itself.

I think there are members on here who mix in legal circles and who know members of the QPS and who could probably post a lot more but are holding the integrity of those friends and relatives.

I think Hawkins legal knowledge is immense and when he is back on here, I am sure that he will continue to explain the situation in legal terms to us, as it arises.

All MOO

I assumed the Prado was driving into Brookfield. I don't think rumour specified? (I'll do a search next).

Remember that young reporter asking Inspector Ainsworth, in the media conference on the day the body was found, about GBC seen driving home (?) in a car at 11.30 at night - he got wrong the make of the car?

That's right. But he's only interested in himself it seems, so he's more interested in how pleading guilty would help HIM... not his daughters or family etc. If he was concerned about it, then he's had a very long time to reconsider, but still silence.

He has only seen a snippet of the evidence against him as contained in the prosecution's bail affidavit. I'd stay silent too until I saw all the evidence they had and then my lawyers could advise me on my chances of being found guilty on that evidence.
