It could have belonged to one of the many first responders, and they just ripped it off outside to nab the perp.

theres no thread for this so im note sure where to discuss it, but since u brought it up....im gonna ask about it here. ive been wondering about the voicemail (s) i keep hearing mentioned. im late to the party so i have 0 info on it/them. can anyone give more insight into these voicemails please?

this image is the gas mask at the southeast corner,
it appears to be in 'used' condition, dents & smudges.
if it did belong to an officer who dropped it & had to
leave immediately other officers would not touch it,
label it as evidence to be figured out later.

In the picture, we can see a door behind it. I was trying to match up this orange door (not purple) with the corner of the building. Where does this door lead?

Hunter said he and his friends made their way to an exit. When Hunter opened the door, he saw two teenage girls – one shot in the mouth and the other one crying.

Hunter said he was about to close the door when he saw the gunman, dressed in black, wearing what appeared to be a bullet proof vest, and a gas mask.

"He's coming my way so I shut the door. So I hold the door for a little bit. He's banging on the door for about 10 seconds,"

Hunter said he was afraid gunman would shoot through door, so he let it go and managed to get out of the theater.

911 was called, then the first police were helping
wounded people & taking then to the hospital.
according to scanners he was discovered at the rear
near his car by a single officer/patrol car.

that's 3:30 in from the initial dispatch.
enough time to run around a bit.

one had already been shot in the face, so yes they encountered him.
sounds like they escaped theater 9 through the rear exit
as JH was busy shooting & were hiding outside near theater 8 exit.
Eric Hunter let them inside theater 8 as JH was approaching.
makes sense if you look at aerial photos.
