Brandon Scott Lavergne - Guilty Plea and LWOP

I agree with your thinking, bessie...I've always felt she was injured with the 'bump' of his truck. IMO, as an avid cyclist , she was pedalling that bike hard, regardless if she sensed a threat near her. It was close to 2am. She wanted to get home asap, not feeling very well...An easy bump from a vehicle when you're cycling, say, even 10 or 20 mph, can send you flying.

BBM...

Not feeling very well and she still kicked his a$$!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Mickey!!!!!!!!!!

Just got home from a bike ride on this beautiful day. Thought of Mickey while riding.
BSL's statement of events that go with the plea deal bother me. I am glad the plea was made and that we know a bit more. The bothersome part for me was that it painted him in the best light possible. I would like to read the events from the victim's point of view. Of course that is not possible but these are some thoughts I had:

Mickey was riding her bike home late at night. She had a feeling someone was following her and suddenly her bike is struck by a dwt. She falls hard, is injured and trying to figure out how badly. A man gets out of the truck and tells her to get in. She says no ....
.....
The man is twice mickeys size and she is hurting from her fall off the bike she is bleeding from cuts where he stabbed her. She fights him, gets his knife and gets some good punches in. Tiny little Mickey, half his size and injured, kicks his butt.

I wonder how many of the inmates were worried about their victims like these A holes are worried about the inmates? Taken from KATC web page.

'Group petitions for access at Angola records'

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A New Orleans nonprofit organization wants a federal court order that would require officials of the Louisiana State Penitentiary to grant center attorneys and a medical specialist access to death-row inmates and records at Angola.

Advocacy Center attorneys say in a civil lawsuit that prison officials have refused to allow them to pursue prisoner reports that death-row temperatures have exceeded 100 degrees.

My heart does not bleed for these inmates. Too bad it's too hot. It's also too hot for a lot of people who can't afford electricity or a/c. These creeps should appreciate the chance to acclimate themselves to what it will be like in the end for them!. I can only hope BSL is very uncomfortable; he deserves it!

Clay LeJeune, one of Lavergne’s defense attorneys, told HLN Friday that his client had been prepared to offer the location of the body “without conditions.” The defense team began discussing the possibility of a plea deal with prosecutors before Lavergne’s arraignment and they spent the ten days after the discovery of the body negotiating acceptable language.

LeJeune said Lavergne had seen the Shunick family’s pain and suffering and wanted to plead guilty and reveal the truth “out of a sense of remorse.”

“He needed to give them something to close this out,” LeJeune said.

The statement in support of the plea filed by prosecutors and signed by Lavergne reveals exactly what authorities believe happened to Shunick on the night of her disappearance in May and what evidence led them to charge Lavergne with Pate’s 1999 murder.

According to the statement:

"Sense of remorse my Buttocks".. 'I think most reasonable thinking people can see through this narcissistic ruse by BS Lavergne'..

BS, BS, BS.
That is all I can say in response to his "remorse." A suicide note with the location of Mickey's body, next to his dead body, maybe I would believe he was remorseful.

ive given up looking for the link. either its in a thread ive yet to re read or it was deleted. just glad im not losing my mind (yet) and backwoods at least is with me.

i totally agree...and i really hope his attorneys stop this crap, because i really don't want to hear it anymore...it's making me even more angry.

Hey all! I was just reading the guest book comments on Mickey's obituary, and someone has written that BSL may be tied to as many as 7 cases? I knew of Ali, but who are the 6 others?

Take a look at the more victims? thread. There are quite a few that could possibly be tied to him. I would not be surprised by 7 or 10...
I imagine lots of jurisdictions are looking at him. I wonder what they found at his house...

im not sure what you mean donamena. the post i am looking for was from someone who hadnt posted frequently and i remember reading and asking myself "who the heck are you to come in here and post random cajunnet" and thinking ab it now, the poster hit the nail on the head. all be dang, but im gonna go back and re read.
I think I was referring to the statement about BSL fighting Mickey in the DWT while driving

Why was Lisa's memorial service last week?

Yes there was one at 5 last Friday. Not sure why since they have had her body and she has been buried unless it was a memorial for final closure. I feel so bad for her children too. Must have been so hard on them all of these years.

Why does it make some so uncomfortable to think that maybe, just maybe this MONSTER as you say, could possible have a human emotion?!?!?!
The attorneys were under no obligation to say anything about how their client reacted. Their work was done as of last Friday. If the attorney said these things, what was his reason? Perhaps he felt it his duty.
I am just as upset over the murders of these precious souls as anyone, but honestly, I am aghast over the venom spewed over and over again. I believe this will be my third time saying these words on this forum, but Lord, there but for the grace of the Almighty God go I, or someone I love...or you, or someone you love...we need to check ourselves because the way we judge others will be the way we will be judged.

This time I don't even care if I am bashed...have at it.

I think all prisons should be like this. If you don't like the conditions, don't do the crime!!!

This irritates me (that people are posting about BSL on Mickey's obituary page, not at you pugmom!)

That guest book is for MICKEY, and should not even MENTION BSL...he is NOTHING compared to the courageous, tenacious and heroic Mighty Mickey!
