How strange! I find it odd that he is unidentified but they know he is 12 years old. I sure hope they find him safe......and quickly!

A single witness said that a 12- or 13-year-old boy was walking down Hollybrooke Drive in the 10800 block, when a blue workvan pulled alongside him when he stopped next to a bike. A driver may have reached across the car and pulled the boy into the passenger’s side, Pearce said. The witness told police the boy was screaming and hollering. The car left the neighborhood at highway speeds.

The suspect was described as white or Hispanic, in mid- 20s or early 30s, wearing a white open neck undershirt with dark pants or jeans.

Spotsylvania issued a be-on-the-lookout notice. The FBI was enroute.

They say so far no missing children have been reported to the department but they have to assume a worst case scenario. This has been on the news here.

Wow creeps never stop even on holidays. I hope he is found fast!

The parents might not know he is missing yet. 12 and 13 yr olds are kind of independent. If my 13 yr old DS would tell me he was riding to his friends and going to the movies or the beach, I would not worry until hours later. :frown:

Here's hoping this was a prank of some sort. Older sibling "kidnapping" his brother or some such.

I wonder what they can get them to scent without knowing who the boy is.

Or maybe angry father that told the boy not to go out until chores were done.

Hopeful this is the case.

Or friends.

I was once tossed into the back of a car and covered with coats by people I didn't know. Turns out, a friend had sent them and they picked him up before I had a chance to panic. Kids will be stupid.

It has happened both ways down here, too. But, to leave his bicycle is concerning...

Glad LE is taking this seriously, whatever the situation.

Command center set up for abdication investigation

At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse issued an endangered missing child alert for the teen. He is described as a white male, 5'1", 70 to 80 pounds, with light brown hair and was wearing a red and white striped shirt with blue cargo pants.

A neighbor told investigators he had seen the blue van in the area in the last couple of days. The witness says he called police after he saw a man force the boy inside the van and sped off, running stop signs to get away quickly.
