Jennifer was last seen at her mother's home on Mt. Home Road. She had recently signed a domestic order.
Her vehicle was located on coal property after her disappearance. Some agencies may spell her middle name "Nichole".

I could not find any threads started for Jennifer. I knew her as an acquaintance, but I know other members of her family. My brother, who was a tow truck driver at the time, was called out to tow her vehicle when it was found. There were/are many rumors surrounding her disappearance. Someone, somewhere...knows what happened to her. Our local news did a follow up on her story last night.

For eight long years, Wilma Pringle had struggled with the same question: What happened to her daughter Jennifer Belt?

"I just think she's gone," Pringle said.

Belt was last seen in February 2005 at her mother's home near Ivydale in Clay County. She asked her mom to take care of her son, Lucas, while she went to Widen and said she'd be right back. Pringle never saw her daughter again.

The article says bad divorce and protection order. There you go!
Did the ex have friends in the PD?

I'm not sure of the relationship, but there was/is a Deputy Belt on the Clay County Sheriff's Department at the time of her disappearance. His family is also from the Widen area. I will check into the relationship between her ex and the deputy to see if they are related.

If you google her name for WV, you will find many of the rumor threads. Some of the information is interesting.

Is Belt her married name?

State Police said they are investigating after what appears to be the partial remains of a human skull were found in Clay County.

The possible human remains were discovered in the Widen area of Clay County.

Widen is the area Jennifer was last known to be in. As far as I know, she is the only missing person in Clay County at this time. Praying there are answers coming.

John Sears has spent the last nine years searching for answers. His sister, Jennifer Belt, disappeared in 2005.

When Sears heard the news, he said his thoughts went straight to his sister.

"We're holding out hope that, maybe, this is her,” he said.

Belt was last seen at her mother's home near Ivydale in Clay County. She left to make a trip to Widen- but never returned.

Her car was found by the side of the road, with the keys still on the dashboard.

State Police have not said that the skull is related to Belt's case in any way. But for Sears, the find brings new hope to an old mystery.

"Just thinking her remains are laying out somewhere, it's something I try not to think about a lot,” he said. “You just go on. You've got to."

Yes, Belt is her married name. Her maiden name is Sears.

Her page on NamUs still isn't working and her Charley Project page was taken down as well. A few people on Topix were writing that she was identified but I can't find any official announcement.
