Police are trying to find another 14-year-old who was last seen just days after Avonte Oquendo disappeared.

Kinete Lewis was last seen leaving her East Flatbush, Brooklyn home on October 8th.

Cops say she was on her way to her high school in Sunset Park.

They say she’s about 5’3” and weighs 140 pounds.

14-year-old girl went missing on her way to school in Brooklyn last week, police said.

Kinete Lewis was last seen leaving her East Flatbush home about 8:15 a.m. Oct. 8, the NYPD said. She was on her way to Lillian Rashkis High School at 355 37th St. in Sunset Park.

Some discussion at the link above. Commenters are asking why, if she lived in Flat Bush (Queens), was she attending Sunset school in Brooklyn. It's a two hour commute. Not familiar with the area at all, I'm on the left coast. Any locals around to comment?

Are her parents separated? If so she could have two homes and have spent the night with one parent and her school could be close to where another parent lives.

Just a thought, I don't know anything about her family.

Any news ? I just realized how close she was to Avonte, they were only like 10 to 15 miles apart. Her school is ALSO on the riverside, South of where he went missing.

Flatbush is in Brooklyn, no such thing as Flat bush Queens.

Excuse me Avonte was in Queens, this girl is Brooklyn and yes there is water in both boroughs, NYC has 5 boroughs. All have water somewhere.

Not every family can reach media, or knows how to.
Many of the children who go missing are never in the media, and should be.

hmmmmm just thinking out loud
She is 14 about 5'3" and weighs about 140 lbs.
She can look of age to most people, she is not a little girl,
people may not notice her as the missing child.
