I wouldn't put too much stock in Stanton's scream testimony. She later said it might have been a psychic dream -- a warning from JonBenet. It's no secret that people like to insert themselves into high-profile cases. I'm agnostic on the scream; Stanton likely wouldn't have been able to hear it...

    The ransom note

Ransom notes just aren't written at crime scenes. The ransom note exists solely because it's the ONLY piece of evidence that even suggests an intruder was there at all; without it, the parents would have been arrested upon the discovery of the body due to probable cause.

What we know about Ransom Note

Also, if we step back and look at the big picture here, no intruder would leave a ransom note at a back staircase. They'd leave it on the kitchen counter or on JonBenet's bed where it would surely be found. The staircase story was just a contrivance to point the finger at the housekeeper.

The Trip And The Phone Call To Arrange A Plane

Does anybody have a citation for the business trip quote? JonBenet Ramsey Case Encyclopedia / December 26 After Noon This timeline contains information about John making plans to fly to Atlanta just 30 minutes after JB's body was found, but I'd like a source for the preposterous business trip...

    The Stine And Ramsey Friendship/relationship

The Stine relationship remains deeply fascinating, but so does the dissolution of the friendship between the Fernie family and the Ramseys. They were initially loyal supporters of the family, but I believe Barbara was alarmed when the Ramsey attorneys began pointing to a previously damaged door...

Did John Ramsey carry the body to contaminate the scene or not?

If only we knew with certainty that Fleet had flipped the light switch! It would be pretty damning if John flipped the same switch and the light worked this time. It would prove that he went into the wine cellar after 10am that morning and had 'discovered' JonBenet well before the 1pm search.

By Accident Or On Purpose Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey?

Having two intruders only increases the likelihood of the body being taken from the house; it makes the actual crime scene that was found that much more improbable.

By Accident Or On Purpose Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey?

    1) Why write a note in his own handwriting (volunteering vital forensic evidence) instead of just bringing a typewritten note in advance? 2) Again, why is the note handwritten? Why not take the body and taunt them with phone calls to draw out the torment? 3) If he wanted to kill her AND...

    What does Linda Arndt know?

Arndt was overwhelmed by the situation and her beliefs about what happened are understandably clouded by this fact. She should never have been left alone with an entire family during an active crime scene investigation. As for John's culpability, he would be the statistically most likely...

You're absolutely right. John told THREE different officers on the scene that day that he read to the kids before bed. This virtually eliminates the possibility of one officer making a mistake in their notes -- three officers didn't make this same mistake. This was one of the few key deviations...

I've always found French's words to Reichenbach that "something didn't seem right" completely chilling. French was the first person on the scene and we've never heard from him since. His immediate impressions are invaluable.

The bombshell that doesn't receive much attention is how Burke directly contradicts John and Patsy on a key part of their version of events. I.e, John didn't carry JonBenet up to bed when they arrived home; Burke said JonBenet walked up the spiral staircase just behind Patsy upon returning from...

    The "set up' questions

JR's observation that the perpetrator must not have meant to kill JonBenet because he wrapped her in a blanket has always struck me as a red flag. You just found your daughter in full rigor mortis, garroted, mouth taped, and hidden in a dark basement of your house. Is your first rational thought...

    The ransom note

An intruder wouldn't place the note at the end of a back staircase; they'd place the note either on the kitchen counter or on JonBenet's bed where it was certain to be found. Even if the Ramseys were worried about contaminated a piece of evidence with their fingerprints (in a purely hypothetical...

Anthony A Shore, Death Row, & JonBenet?

Was Shore talkative when it came to discussing his crimes? If so, there's little chance he wouldn't have taken credit for such a high-profile killing. Were his other killings in high-risk situations or was there meticulous planning? Christmas night is a rather risky night to attempt a...
