This is definitely a hopeful step in the right direction. Addicts do not belong in prison. Period. Keep the courts and the prisons free for actual criminals. With harm reduction strategies and decriminalization we might actually get somewhere with the "war on drugs".
After listening to Klein's ham-fisted attempts at questioning Thomas's friends and acquaintances, I feel so sorry for the Brown's. They've put their eggs into this really threadbare basket. Whew. I desperately want someone to end Klein's audition for his community theater performance of...
The below article is very illuminating , and I've see this happen time and time again with these breathless accounts of "saved" trafficking victims. I so often see panic about "trafficking" on here, but it rarely if ever turns out to be relevant to the situations at hand. It's very much akin to...
That's the documentary I am referencing regarding the comments I recently made. I'm not quite sure what the OP is referring to. It's the most recent, and it's the one that prompted discussion to rev up again. If there is another documentary out there that is purporting to have "new" information...
I know of an evangelical "Christian" family that did this. Adopted multiple siblings, made a big announcement about it, received donations, and then months later announced they had had them "re-homed". The husband is very involved in religious recruitment at a well known university in the South...
Yeah. I'm proudly Antifa, and just about everyone I know is as well. These guys are the antithesis of Antifa.
I fear we're going to have a redux of the rabid Kyle Rittenhouse defense and revisionist history that has accompanied his criminal, murderous rampage. Cue the campaigns in 3...2...1...
Yes, he's really out of control. It's one thing to humiliate yourself on an International stage, but it's truly sad and scary when there are children in the mix. KK needs to make her kids her priority and keep them safe from the delusions of their father. A very sick individual is being...
IDK. I see MANY POC on Twitter stating that the systemic racism in Canada is just as rampant as it is here in the States. The more obvious targets tend to be Indigenous people, however, as I suppose the demographics are somewhat different than in the US. But sadly, this doesn't surprise me at...
Sadly, what we have seen over the past few years from the highest officials in the land, is that the law/justice only pertains to some, and precedent is absolutely not respected. And we've certainly seen overwhelming evidence that our justice system is broken. Whether it will be able to be...
I would say it should go to trial. Let the prosecutors prove whether there is negligence. If it's a matter of someone other than the registered owner knowing the safe code, or having a key, too bad so sad. Reqistered owner goes to jail too. If you can't 100% guarantee no one else is going to...
I'd like to see them prosecuted with criminal charges including murder if a gun owner's registered weapon is used to murder someone. I think it's the only thing that might make "responsible" gun owners...be responsible.
