Without getting too technical... There were probably elements from multiple pictures used to make one picture. I'm sure the young girl's hands were shaking while filming. There are either 24 or 30 frames(pictures) per second on an iPhone 5 video...for example(24 for low light)
In consecutive...
I looked at these again from the studio on a 36" 4K monitor and had a couple colleagues look at them. We all agree 100% that they're edited.
With that being said.. I don't think it matters or there were any ill intentions. I believe they combined multiple screenshots(pictures) to make the...
Yea.. that makes sense. I think the original pics are just horrible quality and it's hard to apply a filter. Although.. your second black/white one definitely showed more detail than the original.
I agree. I don't think LE did anything wrong.. I just saw someone asked why there were blurry and unusual looking spots. They'll use the raw video in court and not a screenshot, so ultimately it doesn't matter how they modify it. As long as they catch this guy.
Thank you!
Typically.. they'll use a low opacity clone brush with multiple passes unless it's a direct match. I'm assuming that's what could've happened. A, C, and D... i guess could be terrible artifacts.. i've just never seen them look like that. It's typically pixelated throughout and...
I agree. Cell phone video can be terrible and filled with artifacts. Does anyone know what type of phone this was filmed on?
I'll look at it from the studio tomorrow(on my phone now). Compression artifacts typically are variations of the intended color..these have new colors introduced...
Yes. Absolutely. Ive seen people lose their jobs for altering a photo.
I think this is a unique situation though and doesn't fall under those media rules.

Thank you. I don't really know the specifics of the case..but that could definitely be what they cloned out..if her coat or finger got in the way.
There are two main types of blur:
Motion blur: if your shutter speed isn't fast enough. In this case..anything moving faster than the shutter...
Somewhat new to the forum and this case. I'm still reading through all the posts.
I'm work in video/photo post production for a living. A couple things with the BG pic. It is absolutely modified from its raw file. The blurry parts are a result of what we call 'cloning'. It is a tool that is...
I totally agree. I think she's scared of the backlash if she were to go back. Was it something specific that made you realize after 3 months.. or just the reality of the situation?

There is a place in Decatur.

They could also have graphics/logos that justify a young girl with and old man such as 'student driver', a business, or church graphics. I just don't think TC is that smart.

I believe both were to throw off LE. Once they were out of Tennessee, i bet he had ET turn on her phone... put it in silent mode.. wrap it in a fast food bag or something similar and ditch it in a garbage can. The phone may have died at 3:06pm.. and they were long gone. There is no way they...
