For PhD programs people often choose a certain school bc they want to work with a particular Professor or specialty of that particular program.

I didn’t want to sound like a snob, but yes, it’s a great school! But, there are some pretty low ranking schools that have some Excellent individual programs - especially grad programs.

Not University of Washington! He was at a branch of Washington State University. 2 completely separate schools.
