I use this site to check road conditions and alerts regularly. It's run by the Colorado dept of transportation., not Google. My phone is Android, Google does track me, at least when I remember to take my phone.

Considering the notoriety of this case, the social media aspect (which I personally avoid to keep my focus), and the the parties involved, I completely understand why LE is driving the narrative as they are. Imo

Imo, the Post is understaffed and not always edited well. Hard times for newspapers. Anyways, I wouldn't put too much weight on that sentence, unless independently reported elsewhere. ETA: Not saying it couldn't be one tip, but have seen this paper really get shoddy the last several years.
