The A)triangulation of the phone's position, and the
B)search for the phone using the app are two distinctly different processes IMO.
Process B was attempted from early'ish in the day by responding officers using GBC's phone.
Process A occurred later in the day using other network based...

I did however, think it was important to give some local perspective on the "Allison's walk" conversation.
The two routes outlined by GBC to police on the morning Allison went missing would be barely 3 klms...
One of my very first posts on here, possibly within days of Allison going missing, was in regard to this.
A TV news report in the days following her disappearance showed police going through industrial bins.

8am is quite early for school. The bell doesn't ring until 10 to 9. The school actually discourages drop off before 8.30am.

Wow! Must be a different lady to the Allison Baden-Clay that I saw driving her kids to school EVERYDAY, then after school activities, and into the office @ Taringa.
They had two cars for goodness sake. Of course she DROVE :maddening:
For the first time in two years, I would beg to differ, Doc.
We are between 1.6 & 1.8 ks from Showgrounds and can hear as clear as a bell, sometimes.
I really think it has a lot to do with the topographical location of your house, the wind direction, other weather conditions etc.
