He was not in California. The California reference was because of the the text "No cell service in Yosemite" which was almost certainly a mis-type for Yellowstone.
If he lied to his parents about the circumstances, he would have known that once the body was found the truth would come out. Perhaps he didn't trust that they would remain loyal and accommodating once it became clear that his story didn't hold water.
I think he lied to them about everything...
It would have been stupid to take his phone. So I feel like that's the smartest thing he's done so far. Didn't take his wallet? What does that even mean? Left behind all his money, cards and ID? Or he left his wallet behind and took one of his parent's credit cards, or a handful of Visa gift...
It's not odd at all. Number of times I've watched the news in the last 6 months: ZERO. I knew Gabby disappeared because I'm a member of many hiking/camping groups, but I never bothered reading the details until a few days ago. If I had not been in those groups I would be clueless about the...
You can be extradited from Mexico, we've had extradition relationships with Mexico since the the 19th century. It's reputation as a safe haven for criminals is not because people can't be extradited, but rather they're harder to find... which isn't the case here since Darress's location was known.

The book review poster shares the same last name as the mother. I found a listing on Ancestry.com with Suzanne's real name. Her last name is only one letter off from the posted one.
Such a sad story. Michael dead, another baby boy missing too-- and if the police had just listened to the mother when she tried to report her missing children, it might all have been avoided.
Happy that "Sharon" has her name back. RIP Suzanne.
Recently, I was thinking of buying Matt's book and noticed a review that came from someone who claimed to be the grandfather of Sharon-- same last name as mentioned above with a C. Said his granddaughter went missing in 1975. It was posted back in August.
Long time lurker, first time poster... Hello everyone!
One thing I noticed after checking out Google maps for the location of the Patata st. trestle bridge (I grew up in the area and wasn't familiar with it) is that technically I believe this would be in Cudahy city limits not Bell. Although...
