"I've thought about this case and I've struggled with whether or not to accept this negotiation," the Judge said between long pauses. "I was reminded of the words of Christ, where he said in Luke that 'it would be better for a man to have a millstone tied around his neck and thrown into the bottom of the sea than to cause a child to suffer.'"

This will be one of those cases for me that will always feel unsettled, even after it is all said and done.

I just finished reading this entire thread. Poor Gabbiee....her poor mother. I feel the entire country lost an aspiring young girl who was bound to change this world. She was on the path to something wonderful and great and just like that a "monster" swoops in and just snuffs out that beautiful light. I am glad Gabbiee was brought home and laid to rest properly but that just doesn't heal the hurt and that eternal void her mother must feel.....this just makes me ill. I pray lease: VERY HARD for my own young kids. What is this world coming to that you can't even feel safe for your children and yourself in your own home? It's just too much. SMDH

Just saw that they found Gabbiee a few months ago today. Sadly, there are so many cases I have a hard time keeping up. Sweet Gabbiee, may you rest in peace! Gone way too soon. Can't believe some humans do this to children (and adults too) but our precious children! May justice and God come down on this "man"!

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - It was a day of celebration and a time for reflection for the Ridge View High School graduating class of 2015. But one graduate was noticeably absent.

"To know that we're graduating without Gabbiee is kind of sad but at the same time we know she would have wanted us to keep going with or without her and that gives you that strength and that boost to keep going," graduating senior JB said.

The mother of Grant's wife is now wondering if her daughter really died from a heart attack. She says that an autopsy wasn't done at the time. Were they able to determine a cause of death based on evidence a the time of her death (prior medical records and medical event)?

On Feb. 1, Grant was charged with two counts of domestic violence, one count of kidnapping and one count of murder in Kershaw County.

“This was a long time coming,” said Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott. “We knew that he was responsible for Adrianna Laster’s death but it was just a matter of finding her body.”

There was no deal cut for Grant, who Lott has previously called a “boogeyman” and a “monster,” when he was under investigation for Swainson’s murder in 2012. Grant ultimately cut a deal with authorities and led investigator’s Swainson’s body in exchange for a 30-year sentence and the release of his daughter, who was accused of being an accessory, from jail.
