UK UK - Lee Boxell, 15, Sutton, 10 Sept 1988

There seems to have been quite a few disappearances or murders of teenage boys in London in the eighties. There was Jason swift, Kevin hicks, and a boy disappeared somewhere on the district line in 1979. Only Jason swift was found, and no reason for the others to run away.

Three men have been arrested for the murder of 15 year old Lee Boxell, who disappeared in Sutton 26 years ago, Sept 10th, 1988. Police orginally thought Lee, of Cheam, South London, was heading to a football match at Selhurst Park. Only the ages of the arrested men have been provided and the two eldest face the same charges of: murder, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, and indecency with children. They are aged 78, 52 and 41. The 41 yr old's charges are murder and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. A 42 yr old woman's been arrested on conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and indecency with children.

It was eventually discovered Lee may have gone to 'the shed', an outbuilding at St Dunstan's Church where teens gathered and where, unknown at the time, a paedophile ring was preying on the teens. William Lambert, a gravedigger there, was jailed in 2011, (aged 75) for 11 years, for sexually abusing four girls who attended the club. Police excavated part of the graveyard in 2012, but nothing was found.

Lee's parents, Peter and Christine, have kept his bedroom exactly as it was the day he went missing. They say: "We still haven't begun the grieving process".

In February 2013, a Crimewatch (TV reconstruction show) appeal went out for any information about Lee. Lee was 5'6", slim build, with light brown hair and wearing black jeans, brown suede shoes and a Flintstones T shirt when he went missing.

Just speculating, but that gravedigger would now be 78, wouldn't he?

I hope they have good evidence and find Lee's remains. I hope they release more information soon, too!

Ive always felt that Lee Boxells disappearance and Kevin Hicks disappearance was linked in some way. I wonder if the police have ever looked into the similarities in both cases.

Has there been any further developments in this case are the three suspects still on police bail?

Article is about a charity single that is going to be released. The money raised will go to help fund then search for the missing.

Missing People Choir members performing on the single include; Nicki Durbin, for whom the song also marks the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of her son Luke on 12 May, Peter Boxell, whose son Lee went missing in 1988, Sarah Godwin, whose son Quentin went missing in May 1992, Ros Hodgkiss, whose daughter Alice Gross was missing for a month before she was tragically found to have been murdered, and Denise Horvath Allan, whose son Charles went missing in 1989.

The music video will also raise awareness of some of the UK’s most long-term missing children including Madeline McCann, Ben Needham, Kevin Hicks, Sandy Davidson and Katrice Lee.

Can anyone remember the murder of Bulic Forsyth?... Ive posted this one several of the missing posts from London as there is potential relevance.

From memory Forsyth worked for Lambeth Council in 1993 and confided in a work colleague he was about to reveal something but about VIP paedophiles operating In Lambeth and using council premises.

Two days later he was murdered and his house set alight. No one was ever arrested let alone prosecuted.

With people missing like Martin Allen, Lee Boxall, Kevin Hicks (police today believe he was murdered) and countless other 'missing children', it makes me wonder if there is more than meets the eye with these disappearances. I mean children, seemingly going about there day to say life suddenly vanishing more often than not with little evidence.

Thoughts appreciated...

ive got a feeling the kevin hicks and lee boxell cases are linked,Both cases have to many similarities.I also think that the mark garvey case could be linked aswell.

Families of missing people to appear on Britain's Got Talent
Today is the 22nd anniversary of Richard's disappearance and his sister Rachel will appear with the families of other missing people on the show.

The choir previously released a song penned by a man whose son also went missing. Peter Boxell's son Lee (15) went missing from south London in 1988. Mr Boxell wrote the song 'I miss you' in tribute to his son.

Was there ever an update on the 3 men arrested and bailed in Lee's case?

The lost boy behind Britain's Got Talent's most moving song ever: Devastated father talks about the teenager whose disapearance inspired the choir born from heartache

To many, it was the poignant highlight of the evening, persuading even presenter Ant McPartlin to shed a tear.

But for Peter Boxell, appearing on last night’s Britain’s Got Talent had a truly personal resonance.

For when the 70-year-old grandfather sang I Miss You with the mesmerising Missing People Choir, it was to perform a song he wrote himself in memory of a child who has been gone for nearly 30 years.

Lee Boxell, his only son, disappeared on September 29, 1988, after telling his father he was going to watch Crystal Palace play just a few miles from their home in Cheam, Surrey.

Formed in 2014, The Missing People Choir is composed of individuals and families of people who have disappeared and is led by the Missing People charity.

Wow, thanks for posting.

Maybe we can start a thread for Lee, if there's not one already?
