read in the Post and Courier yesterday morning about the arrest. So glad to hear there's been an arrest (two arrests) but so sad for Heather and her family. What do authorities believe happened exactly? I got the impression that they'd been following these two suspects for some time, how long was it? I was wondering why they weren't searched earlier, in case H could have still been alive?

It is my understanding that LE did do some sort of searches with warrants at the home area prior to this recent spat of home searches.

From reading and listening to how LE described things, I am thinking the previous searches were limited in nature and were not as focused as this new round of searches. Most likely because the intial search warrants were only granted for limited things.

I would hope the earlier searches were broad enough to at least make sure Heather was not being kept hostage in the home.

A lot of us feel Heather did not survive very long at all once whoever met with her at the landing. Like if this was a rage type incident then she probably didnt make it too long.

But there is that possibility that she was removed from the area alive which gets real scary to think what she may have went through. Hopefully LE will share more of what they know.

I feel IMO that SM has struggled with HE death and TM is/was NOT happy about it. I am not saying he is innocent but I think he may not have been as happy about HE being gone from this earth forever as TM was/is. JMO of course.

I agree. He doesn't get a pass but it seems he may have a conscience where his wife seems to lack such.

lol you have a lot of catching up to do. Heather was having an affair with Sidney, the man. He was the last person to speak to her in the hours prior to her going missing, and initially lied about it. His wife is vile and narcissistic and has been posting really bizarre things (and hateful) on FB in the last couple of months.

oh, he was the guy? I thought it was a different (single) guy that she had been out on a date with that night and that last contact was when she called a family member in the wee hours to say the date went well.

Edited to add: if she was made to make that phone call, that would at least be evidence of premeditation.

Trying to keep up so I don't know if this was mentioned or not...if so, sorry.

I noticed the black F-150 quad cab and the red GMC/Chevrolet both have rather large tool boxes. Maybe she was put in one of the tool boxes so that she couldn't be seen in the back of the truck or in the cab when transported away from PTL.

Maybe some evidence (hair, blood, fluids, clothing, necklace) was found there??? IMO

SDT, it would be interesting to know if there was a police scanner in any of the M's vehicles..

The date is a completely different guy. She went out on a date with a different, single guy who has been completely cleared by LE. However, in the months prior, HE had been having an affair with SM who is married with children. It's been reported that she was in communication with SM until 6am the morning she disappeared.

I am thinking that a piece of evidence that LE must have uncovered either at the home or in one of the M's vehicles would be an item Heather had on her person that night/morning. That being her keys (we know she drove to PTL), her cell phone (texts/calls) or the clothing she was wearing (her photo texted to TE that night).

The sadness is just overwhelming. I cannot stop thinking about Heather. Cannot stop thinking about the life she will never live. It is just heartbreaking.

If HE met her fate in one of the M's vehicles, on their property, in their home, or outside at PTL. There would have been various body fluids released upon her death. The amount of fluids released would have been dependant upon the method of death and other factors. Imo, investigators have identified the crime scene, recovered dna, and other forensics evidence from these fluids verifying HE's death..

I suspect that the surveillance tapes indicated that there was something added to the back of the truck when it returned. This was filmed during time frame of disappearance. LE found body fluids in the truck after impounding it. That would seem to me to be probable cause for charges. Also the GPS on truck could have indicated that it traveled to the landing and back that early morning. Hence, the location of death was charged as the landing.

Just speculation ...

An Horry County police report filed late Dec. 19 said Elvis left her River Oaks apartment on White River Road on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at about 7 p.m. to go on a date.

The report said Elvis and her date, who is not considered a suspect, had dinner, drove to watch Christmas lights and then went to the Inlet Square Mall parking lot in Murrells Inlet, where Elvis’ date taught her how to drive a standard transmission automobile.

It was from there that Elvis texted a photo of herself driving a manual drive vehicle at 10:43 p.m., the report said.

A question for locals: Any ideas where Heather and SS would've been looking at Christmas lights? Are there any public lighting displays in Myrtle Beach or Murrells Inlet? Or particular neighborhoods known for putting up really spectacular Christmas lights?

ok, thanks. So she was talking on the phone or texting with him until that time, so we know they were apart and she was alive until then. I didn't know that. So there wasn't someone lying in wait when she got home from the date. Presumably she got in safely then and was texting or talking to him until the morning. And not seen again after that, right? When was her truck noticed at the boat landing, I can't remember.

??? But the guy she went on a date with has nothing to do with this. I don't think TM or SM would make her call someone to say her date with someone else went well. I think she was ambushed and they then took control of her phone to send those 'private messages' after she was already gone.

What does everyone think about the "Why"? Why that night/early morning?
What transpired that made this whole thing go down then?

ETA: for every action, there is a reaction... immediate or delayed, surpressed, or acted upon. The "why" may help narrow down where Heather is now, imo.

I don't have a theory per se -- it seems like there are quite a few plausible scenarios.

I can imagine a scene where TM fakes texts from SM to lure HE to Peachtree Landing, grabs her and kills her on the spot, then drives back to the house and presents SM with the body. "Here's your girlfriend. Help me bury her."

I can also imagine nearly the exact opposite. SM and HE meet, for whatever reason, tempers escalate, and he causes her death, then takes the body home to TM and says, "You have to help me."

And most anything in between.

I don't know what the precipitating incident might have been. I alternate between thinking it was a crime of passion and thinking it had been planned for weeks.

I think she's somewhere very near. I don't see any reason for anybody to transport a body very far when there's all that nice water and woodland right to hand. I think it's very likely they threw her in the water and the body just hasn't been found; if that's the case, it'll probably surface when the weather turns warm. sick

Mostly, I'm willing to wait for evidence and pray they find her.

According to LE, Heather was murdered at the landing. I personally believe HE was lured out to the landing by SM with promises of leaving his wife, then was ambushed by SM & TM and murdered. I believe it happened before 6am and they used her phone to send 'private messages' to SM to create a smoke screen. IIRC, her car was found between 10 and 11pm on the night of the 18th. Hey everybody - the tumbler account is not allowed here because of the content. Having said that, I want to encourage anyone that looks at that account to pay attention to when the not allowed stuff was posted. It was posted in the early morning hours of the Day that Heather went missing and it is highly unlikely that Heather made those posts. This is my own opinion but I base it on the timing, the things we have learned recently regarding the Moorers and the content of Heather's other social media accounts which do not include such posts.

The smutty stuff actually wasn't posted December 18. There were posts made in the early hours, shortly before she went missing, but they're all poetry-type posts.

This great post gets into the mechanics of why somebody else posting seems unlikely.

In regard to the content (it being so graphic), I think it's important to realize that that is a part of tumblr culture and the format of the site lends to it. HE didn't post anything so graphic on her other social media -- but she couldn't. Facebook and Instagram have rules against pornographic content. Also take into account what all these different social media platforms do. The only one that has a culture of *advertiser censored* is tumblr. I'm not sure about linking to an article about it, but on Gawker, there's a piece about how integral smut is to tumblr's success. HE also posted a lot of scantily clad or nude women that weren't so graphic, but were partially nude or rather sexual. And there are a lot of those posts peppered throughout her tumblr.

Finally, posting obscene GIFs on Twitter wouldn't make sense, as the platform isn't really geared for that -- but HE does post sexual things on her Twitter. I don't know about quoting them here, but there are several tweets that I'd never feel comfortable reading in front of family members if you know what I mean.

I've looked at her tumblr a few times on my phone. each time I looked, a *advertiser censored* bomb(I think that's what it's called) blew up. I'm not bringing it up because I'm easily shocked. It's just that it wasn't the same as looking at any tumblr I've ever looked at, where you scroll down and look at each image/poem/whatever after another as you scroll. I scroll down, at some point reach a *advertiser censored* photo and then suddenly, my screen goes crazy and a zillion different *advertiser censored* images load one on top of another on top of another like "pop up ads" without scrolling. And i cant make it stop or click back to the previous page. Is that a hack? Does the same thing happen when you look at her tumblr on a computer? It's bizarre.

No, this doesn't happen to me on my computer or on my phone. That's sounds very strange -- there are a few pornographic images on her tumblr, but there shouldn't be pop-ups. Must be a glitch with the app, I suppose? Or something? Yikes.

If indeed there is evidence proving it was the couple then of course the date is not involved, that goes without saying. I had wondered about her wee hours call just to say "the date went well" before ever hearing about this couple.
Yes, I wonder whether the texts or PMs were answered or unanswered, what they may show about his whereabouts etc. Yes, the wife or both of them could have ambushed her any time after she made the "great date" call then. Maybe she was making that call on the way home or while still in her car, rather than after she was safely inside? Or they ambushed her as she came out the next morning. Or rang the bell and she answered or whatever. Yes, either the wife or both of them could have taken her phone and sent the PMs just as a red herring I guess. Or the wife could have done it to see if he would answer or whatever, if she was acting alone.

If they are found guilty of murdering Heather, then regardless of the times it is sickening to think that these people would be exposing themselves outside in public for any reason around the time of the murder.

Before during or after. Just sickening.

In their equally screwed up minds they may have been trying to establish an alibi for where they were at the time of the murder, maybe?
