It was a nice, but cold day here. I have been following the missing plane thread, but it changes so quickly that I can't keep up. So sad to think of the possibilities of what may have happened.

Sending special hugs to all who could use one.

Niner is right ... most of us seem to be over on the Malaysia missing plane threads. I'm there all the time lurking.

Miss all of you. I seem to have lost my personality/sense of humor lately but still love ya!

That missing plane has captivated so many of us. I know what you mean, daisymae. It is hard to think of much else lately. What a perplexing mystery this is ....

Staying warm here. Just purchased my new best friend. A heating pad. I though it would only be about $9.99. Wrong, twice that. Should have driven to Walmart, but couldn't deal. Once it gets going, it is sooooo nice.

Don't know about any real facts or truth in this, but interesting:

Pompeii: The Mystery Of People Frozen In Time - History Documentary - YouTube

I'm pretty sure my children saw some of these poor volcano victims when I sent them on their brother/sister tour of Europe. So sad for these people to be "memorialized" this way...

Hi Spellbound, I am following it too. I keep thinking of the couple with the baby. This is so sad. I dont know what I'd do if I knew we were going to die. I wouldn't want my baby to suffer thats for sure. If a person is responsible for this I hope they get him/her. ll the people..My God My God.:scared: I am fascinated with how much the people on the board know about the situation. We have a smart group of people, myself not included. Yes its cold! 15 overnight.:banghead: :loveyou:

Niner I agree with hubs and Nymeria, it is not a good time to move. My Latvian friend here cannot, but he stays on the news and agrees, poor timing to go back home. He had to move long ago for reasons you know. It can wait a bit.

Seriously, if income is low, dried beans and rice get me through, cutting down on any unnecessary spending - which I am sure you do not have, BUT, PLEASE apply for heating, cooling, and food assistance if needed. Do not be ashamed to do so. I was raised to be ashamed, but Dad died in a lot of debt, he couldn't even afford groceries so he charged them, just so Mom would not know. Not okay when assistance is available if needed!

We are all here, checking in a different times. Not enough though.

How are you? Can you get around alright? How do you feel about staying for a year or so?

:blowkiss:

P.S. Tell me how you make homemade chips, PLEASE!

Hi!
Yes, I already get food stamps, and discounts on my gas/electric and phone services!! Your Dad sounds like mine - before he died, he charged a LOT on the charge card and left my Mom a huge bill, BUT! since the card was only in his name, they didn't make her pay it back!! $70,000!! WOW! Thank goodness, she didn't have to!

and Yes, it is a bad time to move to Latvia right now - will need to wait until Russia "settles" down!

I don't mind staying here for awhile! And I'll have to get my Huz' receipe for chips a little later - he's taking a nap now!

and I too have been to the Malaysia airlines thread - unbelievable that they can "lose" a whole plane!

(Reuters) - An Arizona judge on Monday set a September court date to try again to determine whether convicted murderer Jodi Arias will be put to death for killing her ex-boyfriend nearly six years ago, court officials said. <snip> Judge Sherry Stephens ordered jury selection for a penalty phase retrial to begin on September 8. The high-profile case, watched live by tens of thousands of people over the Internet, has been frequently delayed amid a flurry of motions by defense attorneys. The latest sought to have the death penalty thrown out, a move that was rejected by Stephens last month.
State prosecutors had the option of retrying the sentencing phase of the trial. If there is another deadlock, a judge would sentence Arias to natural life in prison or life with the possibility of parole after 25 years. more at link: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/...A2G1F120140317

Know what spoiled my thirty ninth wedding anniversary? Judge Stephens declaring a mistrial in the penalty phase. It kinda put a damper on my day.

Hi Neesaki :seeya:

A lot of people are on the Malaysia MH370 thread- Malaysia airlines plane may have crashed 239 people on board #9 - Page 25 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Not sure about what others people are gathering at though.
Chelly mentioned the McStay thread, I think that one get's a lot of traffic.

And yes I DID notice the moon!
It has been so bright the last few nights, coming up on full. It almost looked like daylight last night it was so bright. And very clear too, so many stars :)

ETA- I have been wondering about YoN also, I wondered if maybe her bandwidth was used up again. Not seen her in about a week.

I've been missing YESorNO, too! Are you OK, YorN?

Still following the missing plane.

I went to be so early last night that I did not see the moon at all. I am still tired this morning. I am getting slee-py, sleeeeeepy, sleee..zzzzzzzzzzz

THAT made me smile :) JA must be livid about this, I love it!
Thanks for the news Charterhouse.
Hopefully her next MI will not be suckered in like De La Rosa.

That lady was crazy, the Maria lady. Would you put your job in danger for the sickening killer JA?

I think a lot of people underestimate her ability to manipulate.

I don't know if it says something that she's hired an attorney?

I kind of understand both sides. I understand the sheriff's office guy who was saying there can't be stuff going in an out of jail to the prisoners. But I also understand that if this drawing was to be used for mitigation purposes (to show the jury), then Maria would have put it in her "Jodi file." Who knows, maybe they are going to do a powerpoint of the drawings to use in the penalty phase or something.

I think there's more to the story, b/c sheriff's office went as far as going and interviewing her and then banning her. There is more to this story IMO.

I have to think they have to "declare" items they bring out of jail visits.
Kind of like going through customs.
If Ms. Maria would have come out of the visit with the drawing and said "I need this for the penalty phase" I am sure she could have taken it out legally.

But we all know JA is selling her kindergarten art online, and so do the jail authorities.
Guess they are trying to trim down on some of the bad art in cyberspace :giggle:
