Melendez testimony from HLN updates 4/24/13:

5:50 p.m. ET: Martinez has called Mesa, Arizona Police Detective Michael Melendez to the stand. Melendez said he examined Alexander's laptop hard drive and did not find any images of women's breasts or images of children on his computer. He also did not find any pornographic websites in Alexander's internet browser history.

5:52 p.m. ET: Martinez has finished his direct examination of Melendez. Nurmi is now questioning the detective.

5:53 p.m. ET: Melendez said the laptop recovered from Alexander's home belonged to Reid.

6:18 p.m. ET: Nurmi is asking Melendez to explain how he conducts a forensic examination of a computer. Melendez said he makes a copy of the hard drive and then he can see everything that is on it.

6:21 p.m. ET: Melendez said the last activity on the laptop recovered from Alexander was at 4:54 p.m. on June 8, 2008.

6:25 p.m. ET: Nurmi is walking Melendez through the laptop internet browser history from June 4, 2008 at 4:00 a.m. in the morning.

It appears someone was looking up youtube videos of Daft Punk.

6:31 p.m. ET: Juror question: Did you find any *advertiser censored* or any nude images on of the items you examined?

Melendez said no he did not find any images like that on anything he examined.

I hope the judge wasn't mad because she saw some merit in what the defense is claiming and is mad she might have to side with them?

Yes, why is it going to take him 5 calendar days to turn over what he should already have, assuming he's followed the same forensic protocol he talked about (and misrepresented) earlier? This guy is a snake...

Yes, why didn't the judge order him to have it to JM by Monday? This Dec 4 date is way too close to the Dec 18 drop dead date told to the jury!

This is weird. Why didn't he see the activity occurring on June 10th that BN found?

So we learned today that the *advertiser censored* was not the elephant in the room.

Bryan?

Bryan Neumeister?

Is that you?

There's a presiding judge. He doesn't really "oversee" her courtroom, no. And he certainly wouldn't get involved in minor issues like rebuking a witness who is showing disrespect for the process.
I'm glad to hear this AZL...I once asked if JSS was an island and kinda got scoffed at. Everyone needs guidence, advice, or a slap in the head every once in a while.

Speaking of slimy cartoons, it turns out that Fonseca studies and works with sex offenders (Nurmi's speciality). Coincidence? I think not. She also:

... would like to reintegrate the molesters and pedophiles into our society but under strict supervision....Their sexual proclivity, while destructive, is neither evil nor diseased in ways those words are understood. To call it “satanic” is to misrepresent it “terribly,” she says. What pedophiles and molesters and rapists do is awful and wrong. But, she says, “these are our brothers,” part of “our human family” and she wants to carefully bring them back into the fold at a time when very few would agree with or allow her her wish.

Beware of the clueless that harbor a savior complex.

I believe Hughes said in an interview that he was able to get into Travis' emails remotely after hearing that Travis had been found dead. So could Chris have activated the viruses when he accessed Travis' email account?

I don't know if this has been answered but here it goes. We have our home internet access email account set up to where if we are gone and want to access our email, we log into our phone company and then our account, not our actual computer. When we get home, then we can open it up and have it on our computer.
We never use our local/home internet email for anything other then very personal. I had to request to join here, because I use one of those other email like google. I have like 5 of them other accounts. Google to use their docs...outlook, etc etc.
So I don't think it could, in fact I think if a "virus' was activated it would have happen to the Hughes on computer/phone.
Something else that bother's me tho. We have 3 different things for antivirus/protection stuff on our computer.
Years ago I volunteered for Microsoft's Gaming Zone, where I went through the backdoor, to watch the site for trouble makers. We had the tools, to do certain kinds of banning and other things. I had several protection programs doing this kind of work too. One called nukenabber, would tell me when someone/program was trying to access my computer. My local electric co was the worse. They would try to put cookies through the phone line.
I am no expert tho, by any means, but you learn all kinds of stuff when you do some kind of volunteer work like that.

JSS kept the cameras out of her courtroom because it "allegedly" created a three ring circus. But I disagree she herself is allowing and causing her own Courtroom to be a circus. Her lack of keeping witnesses in line is making her look like a fool. I've never in my life heard or seen witnesses be allowed to behave the way they are in her Courtroom. It's like we are in the twilight zone.

AZL, have you ever known a judge to receive so many complaints in a trial, that a superior was sent in to observe? Have you ever known a judge to be replaced during a trial?

I check at all the sites for BN but for the life of me I can't find out what his qualifications are? Nothing is mentioned as to his schooling, degrees, but of note he does work in film so maybe like science fiction. I don't think JM would announce in court that BN was the one that broke the HD without backup proof. We all have watched him all these months and JM would not do that. No one gets that mad unless they know the other person is Gas Lighting them. Oh and to the JA supporters...CMJA will not be home for Thanksgiving since your buddy BN still has not given the requested clones and raw data to the State.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Juan called in the FBI computer specialists? After the judge told Alyce to get her azz into court and screw her personal agenda, why didn't the judge do it today when the Dt specialist said he was swamped.

Looks like I missed something maybe or maybe not good today. Is it worth reading the posts pertaining to today???

While I refuse to concede, without actual evidence, that Neumeister found any *advertiser censored*, I think (from the tweets, since we're precluded from viewing or even hearing the proceedings) that his smoke-blowing and dust-throwing amounted to what he claimed was "searches for *advertiser censored*" versus actual *advertiser censored*.

Searching for *advertiser censored* is not necessarily the same thing as actually downloading pornographic images to the HDD (hard disk drive).

I can utilize a browser to navigate to a search engine and query for "cruel murderous pretend Mormons with debasing desires", but that doesn't mean that you'll find digital images of them on my hard drive, unless I actually download said images.

All these failures are related. They aren't separate issues. The bench conferences and secret meetings and failure to reign in anyone anyone, ever, and her caving in to a convicted murderer's demand to testify in secret..... all are indicative of a single problem..... a judge who can't control a courtroom and who is in waaaaaaaay over her head.

I don't like the "can't control a courtroom" phrase because it sounds too much like a grade school teacher who "can't control a classroom." In my opinion, the failure has been in what has gone on outside of the court room (in chambers or muffled bench conferences) or inside when the judge denied public access.

That was extreme.

ETA: Thank goodness for Bodney.

I don't think so, no.

From AZLawyer's post (thanks!)recounting Melendez's testimony: he says (paraphrase) "there were no pornographic websites in internet browser history".
Perhaps I am wrong, but the files they were talking about today were not found in the browser history (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc) - correct? it sounds to me like the ones this guy was talking about were in the cleaning process files like spybot tracks, correct?
I'll bet this is all semantics, too, and depends mightily on context.

It was Neumeister again, Kensie. You remember: Neumeister of "seeing an outline in a photo of Travis' enhanced digital eye." You didn't miss much except more desperation on the part of the defense and the prosecutor's frustration with it.
