BS owned a pawn shop for several years in Wellington, NSW prior to moving to the central coast. So in essence he was probably opening another pawn shop (after moving to Laurieton) as that is what he was familiar with.

Wasn't that a hire shop? Which is very different from a pawnbroker-and-cash-loan business.

"Mr Spedding owned the Speddo’s business in Percy Street, Wellington where he sold white goods and furniture. "

Looks like a new washing machine wrapped in plastic, so evidently he stores them at his house.[/QUOTE]

Hopefully police have checked contents...

Where do old washing machines go when they are beyond repair? Do they get taken apart and recycled or do they go into landfill whole, as they are? The ones I've had in the past have been taken by the repair guy when he brings a new one, and I've no idea where they end up. Quite a space inside...

I see the police have decided to have a little break before searching the other search areas they claim to have an interest in.....honestly wild goose chase!!!

Now back to picking on a currently innocent man we go

Hopefully they did! I find it odd to store a brand new appliance outdoors. Here the weather elements would wreck it.

I strongly disagree! No matter where or when the new searches take place, I applaud the police for doing so as it could mean finding further evidence or perhaps even locating William. Every piece of information is vital to police for them to be able to put all the pieces together to form a complete picture.

I might also add, I recall reading a leading psychiatrists report following Daniel Morcombe's disappearance. The report mentioned, for their loved ones, the not knowing of what has happened to a missing person or whereabouts that person may be, is one of the highest forms of torture known to man.

At this stage there is nothing to show Spedding is guilty. At the same time, there is nothing to show why he isn't a person of interest as police have stated they can't rule him out.

Transcript from one of the screen shots posted by sleepinoz....

Police divers were bobbing up and down in the last parts of the swampland to be searched in a patch of bush about 23km northeast of where a littler superhero met with villainy.

For three days about 30 specialist cops - stretched out in single file like a rugby league team in defence - climbed through thorns and puddles, over crab traps and brittle earth, and lantana that could strangle an elephant.

Absolutely fantastic effort shown by NSW police.

For William's loved ones, police will NEVER give up in their efforts to locate him and find out who is responsible for his disappearance.

With Inspector Jubelin at the helm, that ^ is a definite!!

An interesting article in The Guardian:

http://gu.com/p/46fan

'Almost half the 40,000-plus children in out-of-home care have been placed with relatives who are not always adequately checked, an inquiry has heard.

A royal commission hearing into how states and territories provide care for children who are no longer safe at home has revealed that 48% are placed in relative-kinship care.

And even when children stay a long time with extended family, working-with-children checks are not always made.'

William Tyrell: Spiderboy family’s web of grief

February 22, 2015

Refusing to believe their little boy is dead, the family broke their silence yesterday to issue a heartfelt plea for his safe return.

They described their life since his September 12 abduction as a living nightmare.

“William’s Spider-Man toys remain untouched and there is such a huge hole in hearts,” they said in a letter to The Sunday Mail .

“Our sadness is overwhelming, as parents you wish for your children to have a long, happy and loving future ... we desperately want that for our little William.

“We desperately want our little boy home where he belongs.”

Their statement comes as the new lead homicide investigator on the case, Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin, confirmed all of William’s family members had been cleared of any involvement in his disappearance, pointing the finger at an opportunistic stranger.

For months I had tried to not think about this case, taking comfort from the fact it was so mysterious and secretive. I hoped that all the secrecy meant that something was happening behind the scenes and the police knew where William was.

To hear about an opportunistic stranger was so chilling. I can hardly bring myself to see William's photo anymore.

It does not look like it has been there long at all. I doubt very much that he 'stored' brand new appliances in his yard. Most likely it just arrived and he was planning to go install it. Repairmen do not keep any inventory of new machines. They order them as needed only. JMO

I don't think its a new washer it being stacked next to the bins, I guess its an old one and ready to be disposed of, I doubt a customer would be happy to receive a new washer that had being left outside in the rain and with the kids banging their bikes against it and what not MOO.

I didn't say the police weren't doing what they should. It's more I find it strange that they aren't straight onto the next search area, one of many apparently. If I was WT family I would expect them to be doing parallel searches if they had more than one identified, and at the very least to move onto the next one as soon as they finished the last. It says to me that at this point they actually don't have any further search areas planned or identified.

I don't know what that is, but it does look like a washing machine. But no way would you leave a new machine in the yard like that and let the kids lean their bikes against it. One little ding and it's going to be discounted. Whatever it is, it's not sale stock.
