Someone writing in wanted Troy to interview Det. Flores and Troy said that he wouldn't do that. His reason was that Flores just lost a son, has a lot going on in his life, and Arias would probably be the furthest thing from his mind now and so very unimportant, and in light of Flores' personal loss, Troy would just not seek him out or bother him for an interview.

The judge and Juan said NO. NO ONE is going to harass you today. Not on our watch. They had the Alexanders escorted out as one final gesture. By God they certainly deserved it. It reminded me of when Steve Flores stood as Sam and Steven took to the podium to give their Victim Impact Statements. It was such as small gesture, of lovely old fashioned manners. I have felt so many times that from Juan and Steve. They are strong and sure, and have this quiet authority about them, it is like they are saying no one is going to hurt you today......not on my watch.

After what that lunatic fan of Jodi's tried to do to Nancy and Jane Velez Mitchell one cannot discern who is cyber bullying and who is a physical threat. The level of depravity it takes to email to Tanisha pictures of her beloved brother on the autopsy table is frightening. The emails were saying they would be there outside court that day.

I know the reporters have a job to do and would have liked a Alexander family statement, but everything the family wanted to say was done so in court and by Juan on their behalf. Thank God in Heaven Juan had them ushered out. I will appreciate Juan Martinez for the rest of my life. All I know for sure in this life is Travis deserved his zeal! Some situations in life just cry out for a hero. In the absence of parents to wrap their arms around the Alexanders and shield them.....Juan got it handled!

Well put. So grateful that those relatively small measures carry such a big message.

That picture of JM, Flores, and TS holding TA's pic is fantastic! That is a picture that deserves framing and should sit on the desk of JM and Flores (IMO).

I remember Chris and Sky laughing that every single time; without exception, Travis would like something on Facebook, Jodi suddenly would like that too.
If he liked a song, she loved it. If he read a book, she tried to memorize it. She walked around their home literally holding open The Book Of Mormon trying to be , and these are Sky's words, not mine "Molly Mormon" because she had learned that Travis would ONLY marry a Mormon.

She was so trying to mirror and match. It got downright silly.
She reminded me of the girl in the Coming To America Movie

ZoeyW...is there anyway you can provide the links? I can see them at the bottom of each written piece but I cannot enlarge to read them. I tried to copy and paste, cannot do it either. I cannot read the black print at all....sigh I am computer challenged! Thanks!

Did someone here mention a series on HBO about life in different prisons? If anyone knows what I am talking about, can you tell me the name of it?

TIA

I mentioned a series I started watching yesterday, on Netflix -it is a National Geographic production, called 'Hard Time' and it is excellent.

I can remember viewing that page relatively recently. It was astonishing how she changed a (very) few words, and claimed them as her own.

Just goes to show what a chameleon she is. Who does that? I can only think she was trying so hard to impress Travis, she didn't consider how embarrassing it would be to called out as a plagiarist? Or, at that point, was she already planning to kill him? Was that part of a seduction plan to draw him closer to her? Did she think none of that would matter if she had succeeded in fooling him into committing to her?

I have so many questions about her and her crime. Alas, most of them will probably go unanswered. But every now and then a tidbit crops up that gives us a better insight into her unique brand of crazy.

Has anyone else seen that letter posted on youtube that she apparently wrote 2 weeks before the murder? Basically whining about him not giving her credit for helping with his book. Is this new or have I just not seen it for awhile? It's quite a lengthy email. Wasn't sure if I could link it here.

Thanks - I will go look on YouTube, as Popsicle mentioned... :rocker:

BBM. One of my faves.... Flores at his manipulative best!

And then there are the false alternatives: "It looks like you planned it, but just looking at you (LMAO, Flores), that doesn't really make sense to me (ummmmm, right, EF): if you tell the truth, then I can know you didn't plan it." "What's a poor girl to do" [with those two options]? Either one, BAM!

And then the threat: "If you don't cop to any of it, we'll have to make something up to fit the evidence. We're very creative in that regard, and you won't like it." Bwahahaha!

Genius....

Did you ever get the feeling that the prosecutor's office loved this interrogation video as much as we did? For Flores' artfulness and Jodi's rediculousness? And they watched it over and over? And that watching it wasn't just a professional necessity?

She didn't like the, "make something up to fit the evidence" statement at all. IIRC she tried to use it against the prosecution.

I always believed she wanted her to get the death penalty. Who can forget how JSS was practically moved to tears when the first mistrial was declared?

IMO, JSS was a paragon of virtue throughout this case. Yes, her voice broke when she declared a mistrial in the first penalty phase, perhaps betraying her true feelings. But other than that one moment, she was stalwart throughout both trials.

I was so happy that Samantha took the last few moments of her victim impact statement to acknowledge Judge Stephens, the toll this trial must have taken on her, and the fact that Jodi did her best to manipulate Her Honor's court. Samantha didn't lower herself to Jodi's mean-spirited vitriol, instead, she elevated the discourse by taking the high road, which is where Judge Stephens had been all along.

I'm pretty sure Judge Stephens thought Jodi deserved the death penalty, but I have the utmost respect for her for putting her personal judgments aside and doing her best to ensure that the trial played out according to the law.

ETA:

Am I the only one who thinks Judge Stephens seems like a super nice person? Can you imagine family get-togethers with her? Everyone would be so relaxed, yet well-mannered in her presence. Ahhh, I can almost feel the negative energy dissipating as she enters the room...

Troy was also asked about Juror17 and his (Troy's) opinion was that Juror17 did not lie to get on the jury and as much as people claim she had a hidden agenda to save JA from the DP (which he didn't personally believe), he said he was able to identify maybe 5 or so people who appeared to have an agenda to make sure JA got the DP. Troy said, "so it works both ways..."

Troy put the onus on the county prosecution office on not looking into J17's info when she did disclose during voir dire she had 2 spouses who had priors (arrests/convictions). He said it was up to the county to do some checking into this, though he doesn't know why they didn't. Troy mentioned he did ask Juan about J17 in his interview with Juan, but Juan didn't want to talk about J17, saying it was water under the bridge (in essence).

Thanks for this. I have to admit that I thought JSS was a softie and sypathized with the killer. I was one that really thought she'd give her LWP. I see how wrong I was. Posters were correct in that she was giving the DT everything so there would be less of a chance of her sentence being turned over on appeal. I think when she walked into court her mind had already been made up. Jodi could have done handstands and it wouldn't have mattered. I truly believe JA thought the judge was on her side. After seeing the close ups of her face, I think she was stunned. I'm so happy to have been wrong about JSS.

I am so surprised this thread is still going.

She is gone. Over. The End.

Talking about her now makes her relevant..

Nope. Waiting for the "sealed" chit to be released. I'll be here waiting and posting as I wish. :seeya:

No, it hasn't changed. Ghetto is still ghetto. Except that it is used as both a noun and an adjective now, other than that it's still the same.

MDLR's behavior is so juvenile and unacceptable for anyone, let alone a contractor for the state of Arizona. I'm appalled at how she is treating people.

She is being confrontational and combative to people who have posted their opinions, and is clueless to the fact that she's the one who's in the wrong. She even went as far as to say something to this effect, "Your comments only show your level of education and sophistication (not much)". ... Which is exactly what I wish someone would say to her.

In my book, whenever someone treats other people disrespectfully, it's ghetto. It doesn't matter if you have all the education in the World. If you lack tact and discretion, and disrespect others, you are ghetto.

Fair enough. Maybe the definition of ghetto is different depending on which part of the USA a person lives. When I lived in Southern California, some teens would call a person "ghetto" and they meant a poor black drug addict, gang member. Where I live now, in Texas, a person who lacks discretion and disrespects others is called "white trash" or "trailer trash". Whatever the definition, I do not like name calling.

GiGi, my favorite outrageous story about Jodi was when the manager of The Purple Plum was being interviewed and he shared that she once pretended to be new in town so this handsome young patron would show her around town. It worked. She is that chick in the Black Widow movie , jello to any mold that fits the situation.

It reminds me of a story we read in grade school called
The Open Window by Saki
