Just dug up this profile from John Kelly. I have read it several times before but in an effort to get some discussion going, i thought i would post it. Three things stand out to me. First, the apparent obsession with cell phones. Secondly, all the known victims were out of towners . Thirdly, that the killer is very auditory i.e. a smooth talker, likes to talk on the phone.

This case IMHO would not be so hard to solve - maybe LE has done, and they won't tell us.
If LE think JB (Bittrolff) is the LISK, they are smart to not charge him with any other cases right now. The cases of Rita Tangredi and Colleen McNamee should be enough to put him away.
I think these crimes are related to the Ocean Parkway victims. IMO he got better at covering his tracks.
The construction background explains everything:
1) Driving around for work with a truck for hours - no one to answer to...
A.Lived in Manorville and had jobs in Manhattan - lotsa time to cruise - (triangulate it - it's obvious when we realize the ground he could cover)
2) Construction workers - ESPECIALLY CARPENTERS clean up their worksite with what???? Burlap bags for the sawdust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3) Empty construction sites would be perfect killing grounds
A. You have your saws and other items that you could use to torture and dismember
B. Construction site would be empty from Fri thru Sun - PLUS HOLIDAYS - LONG WEEKENDS!!! IMO that's where the crime scenes were - at least some. It's perfect the construction job
1. The evidence and crime scene would be tainted as crews came back to work and cleaned up...
1. Most bodies were found near expressways, etc. He would be able to dump and drive by his victims frequently...

2) Construction workers are known to do drugs - especially meth - (gives you energy, makes you horny - but you can get frustrated KWIM? Just FYI)
Bittrolff - he fits my profile perfectly.

There is so much more that's makes him suspect for LISK! Other posters could point out even more connections...

well the bridge itself is not my POI but I think the POI worked on a construction project down there and I think the biggest one was the bridge project. And you can also "watch a body rot" from on top of a bridge
 
Native, Do you have a specific poi or do you just think the likely poi worked on the project. Was that work seasonal or did it go year round? I've always thought that the warm weather aspects of the crime were important. Also is that project finished or ongoing?
 
project is done.
busier in the summer than the winter.
no specific POI I am not that smart.

There is also a downtown Manhattan project at Times Square where he could see the working girls all the time...I'll try to find the link
 
I would love, love to hear what a real profiler would have to say about Biltroff meeting the profile of THE LISK. It is so frustrating that it appears that LE has ruled him out as a suspect for other murders. I can see how he could be excluded from some of the crimes where we know exactly when the victim disappeared but I do not see how he could be ruled out on all ten victims based on MO or crime scene details.
 
I'm also curious about why he's been ruled out (or if he actually has been ruled out) of the other murders. I'm pretty sure they think he killed a third woman but hasn't been charged for it as of yet.
I'd think that the first impulse would be to try to pin as many of the unsolved murders on him as possible in order to clear out a lot of unsolved cases whether he was responsible or not, so it is pretty interesting if he has been able to be ruled out somehow. DNA? Something else?
 
There are so many victims connected to East New York, BK in the LISK case. Who was in in Oak Beach the night Shannan was killed that is connected to East New York? OB/Gilgo + ENY = LISK
 
EAST NEW YORK - This is purely unsubstantiated but certain people are trying to get substantiated. Even if it is true the connection with LISK and ENY is a big stretchhhhhhhhhhhh.

One rumor has it that a high ranking SCPD police official was arrested in East NY for soliciting a prostitute in a NYPD/DA sting operation. There is also another rumor he was caught twice and the second time he broke a prostitute's arm. I REPEAT these rumors are totally unsubstantiated.

This was supposed to have happened during the period of 2003-2004. Personally, I believe the first allegation is true.

What I do know is there are some folks making inquires over the past year, and further inquiries have been made of persons that are believed to know something about this event. That the persons making those inquiries have been contacted by an attorney for the public official and advised said persons to stop making inquires although the inquirer has a perfect right, if not an obligation to do so.

East New York is extremely dangerous area/neighborhood in Brooklyn, N.Y. If any of the victims had connections to East N.Y. individual then it may be related to pimp/criminal enterprise? Jmo/

Thanks, I didn't really look at article, but this was recent news. Obviously not then:) But since CT serial killer was apprehended in 2005, then it's possible some of the early pre-2005/undetermined victims related if connection tom him (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Island_serial_killer#Victims). LI Gilgo (4) connected to same person 2007-2010, but not sure if definitive about other victims, IDK.

Hello Everyone. I have only followed the LISK in the news and I also read back through some threads here.

On some TV news show I saw, the "doctor" sure seemed like a candidate and I have not ruled him out but I did want to bring up an idea that another post got me to thinking about.

This may have been mentioned and talked about already but is it possible that the LISK is a pimp or part owner of another "agency" and was maybe bumping off his competition?

The case documentary I saw on TV was the one where the "doctor" was interviewed and he claimed that he was trying to help the girl that came to his house. She ran off and ended up dead in the field.

That case really bugged me because even though his "story" seemed like he was hiding some things, what really bugged me was the girl's ride. From what I recall I think she had a ride there from her "pimp" or something and I think it was supposed to be an overnighter or something. I can barely remember it so I may have some things wrong.

The main point is I got to thinking about maybe a "pimp" or "agency owner" may have been setting up certain targets to be taken out to help his or her own business.

Like if certain girls or agencies were working in the same parts as his girls, then maybe he was taking them out to help his own business be more successful.

Anyway, just some thoughts about this case I wanted to share with everyone.
I still dont like the "doctors" story either. It seemed he was not forthwright with what he was saying on the documentary I watched. Not sure if he is involved or maybe just hiding the fact he was a john himself or something.

The LISK case is very disturbing. Hope LE can arrest any and all responsible.

IMO...you may be "Partly right" ...I wouldn't think that 4 or five girls going solo would attract that much attention from such a large industry....but could it be a smaller group that all these girls had previously belonged to...I believe they call them a stable. If the girls could all be originally connected to a smaller "Stable"....possibly they were used as examples - a statement to say not go independent.

Each of the girls were in part wanting or had gained independence from their pimps/associates that controlled them.

Melissa...strong willed, independent, assertive had started to branch out and was taking bookings independently through craigslist.

Megan....disillusioned... and desperately wanting "out" to start a new chapter of her life... believed the fairy-tale that her "Boyfriend" (Cough) promised the night she disappeared that he was going to allow her to have a baby - he advertised her services through craigslist - this promise was a joke as she was nothing but a commodity to this , but the empty promise showed that Megan was obviously making big waves to how unhappy she was.

Maureen had already broken free from her previous handlers and had been making a life away from the "scene". Unfortunately circumstances saw her make that fateful trip to earn some money in the hopes of saving herself from eviction.

Amber and her sister had branched out on their own, advertising their services via craigslist - both had previously belonged to an agency.

This seems to be the common theme for each of the girls.....they were.. either wanting to get out or had "got out".... in that they had taken control for themselves and were working independently.

Common sense would direct an investigation to link a common denominator between all these men or previous men who had control of these girls lives and see where that individual/group fits into the larger scheme of managing the Long Island scene. Has this been undertaken.....????
