Randy Quaid & Wife Evi Arrested While Attempting to Cross U.S. Border From Canada

Randy Quaid and wife Evi Quaid were arrested in Vermont on Friday night after attempting to cross from Canada into the United States, where they were deemed to be "fugitives from justice."

Randy and Evi were transported to separate prisons. Bail was set for $500,000 for each. They have not commented.

The actor and his Canadian wife fled the U.S. in 2010, saying they were victims of persecution. Quaid said he was being hunted by "Hollywood star-whackers" who killed his friends David Carradine and Heath Ledger.

Ok. So I watched the 15 minute video and I have a few thoughts.

1) wow, they have been married 26 years.

2) she seems more crazy than he is. It seems like he is a vulnerable person that married someone who wiped him out.

3) that champagne looks tasty lol

4) maybe there are small bits of the rant that could be true, but it sounds like they did a lot wrong and what they did wrong is the reason they are not in the U.S. They obviously don't see this part.

I think it is mental illness and not drugs per se. Her skin and teeth are really nice.

Santa Barbara County Wants Fugitives Randy Quaid, Wife Extradited after Vermont Arraignment

In a joint statement issued Saturday afternoon, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney’s Office said the Quaids are to be arraigned Monday in Vermont state court.

“The District Attorney’s Office has been in touch with law enforcement officials in the state of Vermont and has started the extradition process,” the statement said.

I hope their extradition to SB County will be swift. Randy Quaid has stated in a recent article (sorry, no source atm) that he wants to deal with this and get on with his life. I hope this is true, and the matter will be settled/adjudicated promptly. Enough already of this freakish display.

I was dozing when our local news came on at 5 pm PDT but noted one item that the article linked below does not mention:

Extradition Process Begins for Randy and Evi Quaid

If you watch the video, you will see that a death threat against our county DA Joyce Dudley was posted by Evi.

I do wonder if anything will come of that.

Judge Dismisses Fugitive Charges Against the Quazy Couple

Lee Carter, Senior Deputy District Attorney for Santa Barbara County, said the county is seeking a California governor’s arrest warrant for the Quaids, requesting the governor of Vermont to extradite the couple back to Santa Barbara. Carter said it could take up to 90 days to obtain a warrant from Gov. Jerry Brown.
