I thinhk Texas introduced a 4 year alimony if the spouse was un employed around 1995 when I got a divorce, since i was re marrying i didnt bother lol

Thank you, I'd never heard of it! Apparently there is a 'negotiated alimony' which concerns divvying up assets and one spouse paying in a bit to keep the division equal (eg. One party keeping the family business and then paying the spouse a certain sum to even things out). The other form is something of limited duration called 'spousal maintenance' that only applies if married 10 or more years and if certain other conditions/situations apply:

This is completely nothing more than my interpretation of this crime IF it was targeted. If she was targeted, which I personally believe she was, I think it was much more personal than what you described above. Someone who knew her as more than a casual acquaintance. What the hatred in SP stems from could be one of several things, and I don't have enough of the details to even make an educated guess at this point ($, love, kids, business). I don't know what killed her or incapacitated her, but if the LE reports are true that she had wounds on her chest and head (my guess is face due to the chest comment), that shows extreme anger. Yes, other killings have occurred in equally gruesome manners, but now we are talking a very disturbed serial killer type (which matches more with being targeted in the sense of having blonde hair). If LE has good reason and evidence that SP is someone that only casually knew her (maybe only via online), yet attacked her so violently, my guess is they would have concerns SP would quickly fixate on a new target and repeat the crime. I would expect there would be some sort of announcement that locals (really anyone in DFW) be vigilant. Again, nothing concrete to support that, just my initial impression of how LE is proceeding with this investigation.

You summed up my thoughts on this case very well. I am also open to the idea that SP was "hired" by someone who knew MB very well. However I don't believe SP was a professional... more a friend or relative who was asked to take care of someone else's dirty work. If it was a hit person, clear instructions were given on how this murder was to happen. MOO

Many men do not want to give up one penny in a divorce. The thought of splitting everything 50-50 is not an acceptable or imaginable idea!

If there were financial issues to begin with, a divorce would have really thrown a problem into the mix. Divorce lawyers are not cheap plus whatever was causing the issues, late on bills, missing monthly payments, over-spending, would need to be factored into the division of property. Going from one household into two households significantly costs more. Lots of factors to consider. With BB ill, we don't know how much he missed work or if he had supplemental insurance that paid when he was off work.

We have no idea how much money Missy was bringing in. It doesn't really matter as this post is pondering on how some men feel about sharing assets in a divorce.

But if she was "targeted", wouldn't the question still be: "Why"? (Why, her) For example, what if this person went after, a "blonde". (How do you know this person might "not" go after, another "blonde".) (Or say, a female did this case and it was over "jealousy". What "might" happen, if the perp ever becomes "jealous" over some other gal.) I believe this person "could" kill again. [But I guess the real question would be: "Will" they (ever) do it, again.] (And I would not just look at cases that occurred 'at' a church, either. Because, it could be possible that: It occurred there for the reason of: That is where "she" was going to be at.)

```````
If this was about (or, 'more', about): This person wanted to play a "cat & mouse" game with Police [looked for a place, where they would BE on "surveillance camera video"] (you see what they are wearing), why not break into a place where you could (also, at least, "steal" something. Make it more, worth your while.)
```````
(Whatever the case may be), look at this:

If the perp knew that there WAS "surveillance cameras" at this church (There is a sign outside that stated there was),

then they knew (before then went there), that:

Police

will be looking at this surveillance camera video.
(after I do this.)

You see what the person is wearing.

`````
Taunting, Police?
(cat & mouse game)
&/or,
a "wanna-be" cop?
("and", cat & mouse game)
``````
Is it "both":
(The intent was to kill Terri Bevers)

"and"

(The intent was to,
play a cat & mouse game, with Police.)

Wore "Full" tactical gear.
Including, "helmet", of course.

Does anyone know how I can turn off the two advertising videos on each page? I see no place to click on each and pause??? Thanks!

Except in this case, I doubt there was much financial to fight over. Also, Texas isn't an alimony state. If anything would be fought over, I think in this case it would more likely be the children.

That said, I still don't think this is about adultery or divorce issues.

(JMO, IMOO, etc.)
Three children = large child support

If wife were dead, kids would get soc. sec. Hubs gets full custody, no child support payments............JMO

I agree with you. If you haven't read about John Franklin Howard and his multiple attempts to hire folks - when they were not in jail - to kill his wife, read this article. Granted, the money that changed hands in this case is extraordinary, but focus on the people who were hired and their relatives!! Staggering. Even more shocking is that Frank continued to pay these hired killers over a period of years!! Frank's making a lot of money, but who's smarter???? LOL. He was fleeced for a lot of money.
My point, which supports yours, GA Peach, is there are a lot of people willing to be hired to kill somebody. One really doesn't need to hire a mercenary, but maybe a professional wouldn't have been caught.

One part of this case that has me puzzled, is the Nissan Altima. On Google maps pics of Sporting Goods store I count no less than 10 exterior cameras but yet LE says they do not have much info about the Altima. In addition a person related to the case has a business that is Approximately 27 mins down to road. This shop is capable of auto repair including a car lift. Could the Altima have disappeared because it was chopped? or even SP outfit put in an oil barrel and then discarded? Just my opinion and thoughts.

I have only recently begun to wonder if it could be a teenage girl, with a teen boy driving the getaway vehicle. Any thoughts on that?
I in no way can see a teenager in gait nor smarts nor money to pull something of this magnitude off.

...I would expect there would be some sort of announcement that locals (really anyone in DFW) be vigilant. Again, nothing concrete to support this, but my impression of how LE is proceeding with this investigation is that they believe it is someone who had a close relationship of some sort with Missy.
That would be my first guess, as well. (But what I was basically stating was: Until it is "known" what this case was (in "fact") about, (in regard to my own self) I certainly would not (take a chance) in possibly having a (false-) sense of security, in believing "that" (because, who knows what this was about, in "fact".)

```````
(I don't believe it was done by, a serial killer.)
And like I said in my posting,
"I am not implying it was a serial killer."
```````
(But then again, "if", it had been:
Would that even be known, unless it could be "tied" to some other case.(s)

(Or, could this be the "beginning" of something.)

``````
Until it is "known" what this case is about, I don't know how anyone can actually feel, safe.(There are too many "possibilities".)
``````
By the way, Police, don't always "warn" the public about things. (and neither does the media.)
I will give you an example:
(I know for a fact that this occurred):
a young woman was abducted from a parking lot, of local mall, and raped.

This was not in the newspaper.

And, police did not "warn" the public, to be leary, in that mall parking lot.

[Although, I suppose they believe that people should just use their "common sense".
(But you know, a "tip" to the public, may have been nice.
Some people may have "chosen" to not go to the mall, at least at that time.)

However, maybe they were scoping the mall parking lot out. (Trying to catch the person.) (Hoping the person would 'return' to the same place.)

```````
(Another example):
(Same local area, although it was YEARS later, that this occurred)
A single female is shopping at a large grocery store (late, one evening) Didn't have many groceries, was going to take them out herself.
The bag boy, then stated he would go out there to make sure she was alright.
He then informed her: Recenly, a woman had been at that grocery store, and when she left she then stopped by a gas station not far away. (This occurred in broad daylight.)
(She didn't use self-service. The gas clerk, was going to put the gas in the car for her.)
He stated to her:
Would you please get out of your car and step over here with me.
(He then informed her: Did you know there is a man, crouched down in the black floorboard of your car.) Nope, she did not know that.
(This was why, the employees of the large grocery store, were escorting single females, out to their car.)
`````
You would be surprised, how much the "public" is NOT told. (Who knows, what all, that might amount to.)

`````````
But, at least you are "aware" that this case, occurred.
(In the two cases I used for an 'example', the public was not even "aware", that those cases had occurred.) (Because they were not "told" about them.) (They were not stated, in news media.; and no warning, by police) (Yes, you should look in the back floorboard of your car, without hopping in it and taking off. Also keep your car lock.) (But how many people don't even think about, doing that.) HAD they known about that case that had occurred, they now might do that, as a security measure.
But they were not even "informed" about, those two (local) cases.
But I guess the news media and police, cannot "inform" the public about, everything (that has occurred)
Terri Bevers case
(a person "dressed like SWAT")
A "big headline".
(and that is now, not just a "local" headline.)
It is "National".
Anyway, you are lucky that you "know" about, this case having occurred.
(Are "informed". And can now take some precautions, if you choose to do so.)
Back to the SWATPERP video at the MPD website. The item in the left hand as SP swings the hammer into some glass, all the way at the end of the video, is clearly a square ended, rectangular object with smooth edges. It is shaped like a box of Saran Wrap and that is why everyone called it that. When the photo is enhanced, it looks like Godzilla eating Tokyo, all jagged edges and what appears to be empty space. It is not. Clearly, it is a square ended, rectangular object and much like a box of wrap, has no empty space. Although I truly appreciate the enhancement, it was of no help and, to me, is too distorted to use in a meaningful way. I think the MPD video image is clear enough to see the details of the shape of the object.
So, before we launch into the absurd, can we figure out what object, shaped just like a box of wrap and which is definitely not Godzilla eating Tokyo, is in his hand? I notice some movements at that scene that suggest to me that SP gained entry into the room behind what I assume to be a door with a glass window. All we can see are SP's feet but I think they move forward, into the room. Before this, SP's left arm raises up, as if grabbing the door jamb up high, then the foot moves forward. It is a very brief moment.
Study those last few seconds if you will. What could be of use in his left hand, at the door jamb or through the broken window, and looks like a box of wrap? If it served no purpose, SP would not have hung on to it but it stayed in the left hand as the arm rose high. Huh. What help did it provide in getting into that room?
Of course, it could be a box of cookies from the kitchen.
At one point I jumped as I thought it was a bottle of barbeque lighter fluid but convinced myself after seeing the same sequence over and over that I was just tired. Anyway, it has a purpose. It is not a tri-pod ,or a ramming tool, or the panic bar from another door or anything else that has been suggested on these 29 threads.
I've been reviewing the video constantly pausing and playing, over and over again. On end of the object, the outermost end is square, the other end appears to be open, as in four legs or something. It's at about 2:02 to 2:03 in the video. Does anyone else see that ? TIA
ETA: I just looked at it again and I can't tell if it's four or just two or three, but it appears the projections / ends are slightly curved. The problem with a multi tool is it appears larger than any multi tool I've been able to find.
ETA: Sorry, changed from rectangular end to square.
Did anyone read this piece? The hitman in this case was driving a silver Nissan. Interesting!
Important Correction Notification:
I have used this image and in doing so I erroneously credited rodee34 for the mitigation of the SS. That is not correct. NIN is the one who manipulated the image to this state. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused.
Image credit belongs to NIN and to NIN only! Thanks!
It remains my opinion that this is a mechanical part. It is not a cardboard box. It is not a tripod. It is not a multi-task tool. It is a machine part to a car or to a particular machinery such as a tractor. At this time, I don't have time to research the exact item but when I do (and that may be on tomorrow) it will be posted and you can decide for yourself if it matches.
Thanks! You guys are certainly doing a marrrrvelous job! :websleuther:
Yes, I noticed that too. Doesn't make you want to ever drive a silver Nissan.
Wow! Well who knew? Is the Nissan the vehicle of choice for such crimes??? LOL Blend in, nothing fancy, nothing clunking loudly and falling apart......
I didn't re-read this article to note that. Thanks.....
But one thing resonated with me. As some one here considered a while ago - had previous attempts tried and failed??????
