Here is the debunking of all the media stuff with FBI

He had twice come under investigation by the FBI — once for comments suggesting an affinity for Islamist groups, and a second time for vague connections to another Florida man who traveled to Syria to become a suicide bomber

Neither probe turned up evidence of wrongdoing

Okay, how many here have been investigated for "suggesting" we associate with Islamic Terror groups? (Visiting guests need not reply).

Secondly he DID communicate with Mohammad Abu-Salha. There is no debate about that. He was investigated by the FBI for communicating with the Abu-Salha BUT the FBI could not prove that any of the communications were illegal plots.

No innocent possibly-bi-polar-closeted-homophobe ends up being investigated because he said a whole lot of creepy
"pro-terrorist" things to his friends and THEN gets investigated for his communication with an Al Qaeda suicide bomber!

He was knee deep in the radical mindset. He isn't just a closeted gay guy that decided he wanted to go on a rampage after he went to Disney's Gay Day.

No, you aim and fire at your target and then move on to the next target. He had to reload because this was not an automatic rifle. It was a semi-automatic although some in the media are bound and determine to make it an assault rifle even though it wasn't. With the rifle he could pick off someone with accuracy who was many yards away from him.

So, to further clarify, one can not 'spray' bullets out of he 'assault style' rifle he had. Only one cartridge (bullet) can be fired per trigger pull. So to fire 200 'bullets', one must pull the trigger 200 separate times.

Is it possible that some of the injuries were caused by friendly fire?

Correct. Plus change magazines at least 6 times.

In addition "fully automatic aka spraying fire" is way over rated. Even the military guys that have a "full or semi" setting on their weapons choose semi. Full auto wastes a lot of ammo while scoring less hits in almost any scenario.

Not sure, but just like most Muslims aren't terrorists, most people with bipolar disorder are not violent, not terrorists, not murderers.

of course most people with bipolar are not violent etc. But most terrorists are extremely agitated, obsessive and unhinged. You are not easy going and passive when you decide to kill a crowd of people. So I think many f the previous terrorists have had mental health issues which added to their instability. jmo

of course most people with bipolar are not violent etc.

However a lot of severe prone to out-of-control behavior bi-polars get involved in various crimes (petty or not so petty).

This guy didn't have a criminal history which makes me think he wasn't just an off the chain bi-polar.

Are Radicals Mentally Ill?
12/10/2015 06:59 am ET | Updated Dec 10, 2015

But there’s also another explanation that’s been talked about less, and that’s mental illness. The idea that radicalization may be a mental health disorder, or at the very least linked to one, is just beginning to be examined. A study funded by the U.S. Justice Department found that “lone wolf terrorists,” individuals motivated by the ideology of a certain group who act alone, are prone to mental illness, often acting from some combination of personal grievance and triggering event.

Other studies have suggested that violent radicalization may be related to abnormal personality development during the early years. In one recent study, researchers in the UK looking at ways to understand, and prevent, violent radicalization found a correlation between extremist sympathies and “being young, in full-time education, relative social isolation, and having a tendency towards depressive symptoms.”

Is it possible that some of the injuries were caused by friendly fire?

It is a possibility.

One of the critical tasks in understanding Sunday’s shooting inside an Orlando nightclub involves knowing the history of every bullet that killed 49 people and wounded 53 others.

In a Monday morning news conference, Paul Wysopal, the FBI special agent in charge of the investigation at Pulse — a gay nightclub — said an FBI shooting reconstruction team from Quantico, Virginia, will analyze the shooting scene.

In Monday’s news conference, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said the investigation will determine whether any inside the club were killed by “friendly fire.”

or he or a family member could stumble across the wrong website & become self radicalized & murder a bunch of people for allah (US govt says this could happen)

Very respectful comment about the surgeon who spent hours doing the surgeries in the trauma center. NOT?

Hi Blue

I def think he went into delusionial phases. Telling people that Osama Bin Laden is your uncle is pretty out there.

I also wanna say I think bio dad aint all there either - running for an election that is not happening is pretty out there!!

And that is what I think all the utterings of him and "terror ties" --were. He was in a delsuinial state. There was no consitency at all.

One time he knows the Boston Bombers, then he knows someone involved in Foot Hood. There was another one I can remember.

That is why I think the final 3 911 calls (obviously overloaded on stress and probaly had been drinking) were just hot air.

Blue were you aware that on his phone calls to everyone he could not remember which ISIS faction he was doing this all for ? It was like one call he said Burger King, then the next person he talked to he was doing it for Wendys, and on the final call he was doing it in the name Of Mcdonads.

Obioulsy I am making this up! But Burger is allies with Isreal, Wendys hates the Taliban and Mcdonads is loyal to kingdom cong!!

So much credibility can be given to someone who has no clue who he is willing to die for --- makes totally no sense - and sounds like a pretty chaotic mind at that point! IMO

It would be interesting to note if he drank heavily that night

Actually I know a man who is from a colonized country who says he is the Pres of the country he is working to free from colonization. He is not. He is working to free the country , but he does not have a lot of support from the politicians who line their pockets with millions of dollars, He has met with people from other nations and has had some success. I do not think he is mentally ill. He sees the issues of the people who have been steam rolled by colonization.

I imagine the father wants Afghanistan to have some semblance of order or whatever. A lot of people have feelings for their birth country. And if they could , they would return to their land. Nothing strange about that.

Look at all of the people who do genealogy and go to their roots.

I think if people have had to leave their homeland because of reasons that were not their choice, there remains a longing for the good old days that probably never existed and will not exist again.

Think of the nostalgia many people have for their good old days.

Please note: I dont like posting when there are no "spaces. So after I posted I did not want to read all the stuff out again- so I just ran through and put spaces in. I am confident you all can tell when I am sharing stuff that crossed my little brain as I learned more and am not trying to make it look like the Post said some of my comments!

I think Omar Mateen is more of a malignant narcissist and psychopath.

He is more like Eric Harris, Elliot Rodger, Andrew Cunanan, Jerry Sandusky, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, or Saddam Hussein.

Anthony J. Iantosca Forensic Profile On Omar Mateen

Omar Mateen
Orlando Mass Murder
Profile

6/13/2016

Omar Mateem had some very serious internal emotional/sexual issues. A quick profile on this extremist based on his behavior tells me he was a latent homosexual or a practicing bi-sexual who could not handle his sexual urges. It is what is called being on the "down low." Mateem hated himself for being weak and having or engaging in homosexual activities, fantasies and thoughts. Anyone who has this much haltered for a class, group or race of people has some very serious psychological issues that he could not cope with. He used two or maybe three primitive defense mechanisms to cope with these conflicting emotions.

1) Denial; People use "Denial" in their everyday lives to avoid dealing with painful feelings or areas of their life they don’t wish to admit.

2) Acting Out; is performing an extreme behavior in order to express thoughts or feelings the person feels incapable of otherwise expressing or admitting to.
This extremist wanted to eliminate the very people, I believe he was attracted too. In his warped mind he believed by eliminating the temptation "gays" he would eliminate his homosexual urges and fantasies.

It concerns me too. It bothers me when a co-worker is nervous about talking to the IT guy who is from Pakistan and it bothers me when people harass Muslim women on streetcars and in front of schools, and when a grandfather is accosted while walking up the street. It bothers me when Mosques are set on fire, or vandalized, or shot at. None of that does anything to keep people safe. But you're right - fear is cheap to manufacture and it sells.

I have no sympathy for terrorists who behead people, who blow up buildings, or kill 50 people with assault rifles, but I have a great deal of sympathy for Muslims who are on the receiving end of meaningless violence, hate, and suspicion.

I'm behind. But this bears repeating. Peace.

Holy sheesh! Thank you for that post!

He writes "law enforcement serving" and then scratches the "serving" part out.

He was enforcing the "law", Sharia law. Period. Simple. Obvious.

It couldn't be more freaking obvious. Yet some still don't get it!

Open your arms to those possibly homophobic-closeted-Islamic-jihadists and let me know how that works out! Some of us won't open our arms or let our right to self defense be compromised.
