NC NC - Tristen "Buddy" Myers, 4, Roseboro, 5 Oct 2000

Bump for Tristen

ROSEBORO, N.C. — Four-year-old Tristen “Buddy” Myers disappeared from his rural Sampson County home nearly a decade ago. His disappearance unfolded just months after the boy came to live with relatives in North Carolina. Roseboro residents and investigators still hold out hope they will find out what happened.

The blond hair, blue eyed little boy was a typical 4 year old, full of energy and life. Myers was last seen at his home in Roseboro, that’s between Raleigh and Wilmington

Family Holds Vigil

The family of a Sampson County boy missing for 10 years will hold a candlelight vigil in his honor on Tuesday night.

Tristen "Buddy" Myers is believed to have been abducted from his home in Roseboro on Oct. 5, 2000. He was 4 years old. There have been no clues to where he might be.

Nearly three years after his disappearance, investigators in Chicago found a boy matching Myers' description, but DNA tests later determined the boy to be someone else.

Months before going missing, Myers had moved to North Carolina from Louisiana to live with his aunt and uncle.

His aunt reported last seeing him playing in front of the TV before she fell asleep. When she awoke, he and his dog were missing. The dog returned five days later.

Myers, who has a scar on the left side of his neck, was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about Myers' disappearance should contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 800-843-5678 or the Sampson County Sheriff's Office at 910-592-4141.

Myers' family will hold a vigil at 7 p.m. Tuesday at their home on Microwave Tower Road in Roseboro. The public is invited to attend.

Buddy's been missing for fifteen years.

I believe this was the last story published on him, from May 2013:

For his family, hope is a strong word.

“It’s been hard,” said his aunt, Donna Myers. “There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t think about him.”

Came across this little boy's story on Facebook today, so very sad. Sounds like he never stood a chance. I'm hoping that someone took him in order to give him a better life and that he is alive today, well-adjusted, happy, and healthy. Prayers for you Buddy.

At age 4, the boy killed the family dog in the bathtub and had shown other aggressive behavior, family members say.

So he killed a dog at 4 and the aunt and uncle had two (a Doberman pinscher & 3-legged Chihuahua) more dogs that they left him alone with the same year?

ROSEBORO — Somewhere, investigators believe, Tristen “Buddy″ Myers is out there.

It’s what they’ve got to believe.

To do otherwise, they say, would be to give up on finding the little boy with tousled blond hair and vivid blue eyes who wandered away from his Roseboro home on Oct. 5, 2000.

Tristen Myers was one of numerous children featured during a "Missing Children" segment aired at the end of the episode Lost of the series 7th Heaven back in November 2001!
