GUILTY NC - Jordyn Dumont, 3, Gaston County, 15 Aug 2016 *Arrest*

I NEED TO MAKE SOMETHING CLEAR. I saw some comments on one of the Jordyn facebook pages that were directly copied and pasted from one of my posts here as if they were the comments of the person posting on fb. I have NOT discussed this case anywhere else and I am not part of the fb group those comments were posted to. If you are the person doing this, PLEASE STOP. Come up with your own comments and thoughts. Thank you. I will be limiting what I say here from now on.

Mods, I hope it's okay I made this announcement here. I don't want to take away from Jordyn's discussion but it's distressing to me to see my words stolen and posted as someone else's on another forum.

#BREAKING: Preliminary autopsy report says Jordyn Dumont died from blunt force trauma http://on.wsoctv.com/2bidgg1
:tears:

Police clarified the number of calls in a news release Thursday, saying that since the family moved into the home in early November 2015, they responded to the home 16 times.

The remaining 33 calls were associated with relatives who lived in the home before Dumont and McCullen moved in.

Police would like to hear from anyone who might have observed Jordyn and McCullen before 3:30 p.m. Monday, when McCullen called 911, or anyone who witnessed abuse is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
...
Nov. 3, 2015: William McCullen called about trespass issue. (William had inherited house and his sister and her associates were living at the house.)

Warning graphic comment!

It must have been a heck of a beating for Jordyn to die so quickly. :( In Malik's case he was injured in the days prior to his death but here LE said mom wasn't a suspect so I'm reading that as everything occurred after she left for work. Sigh. Maybe it's better that way but I cannot understand how Billy could have let his anger escalate like that. Those poor, poor children - what a crap life they were brought into. I'll refrain from commenting on the adults who are the so-called victims (per TOS) but my heart breaks for the little one. I hope she gets a better break than Jordyn did. Rot away in prison, McCullen!

Sixteen times is still quite a lot of police visits for one year. We lived in our old house for 15 years and had one visit from police that was a misunderstanding that was quickly cleared up. But 16 visits---that is a lot.

I had the same thought! In my 27 years on this planet, I have called police three times for disturbances outside my home (over a 8 year period), and only had police called to my home once, which was a misunderstanding. My husband and I have lived in our current apartment for two years, and we've never called police or had police called on us.

Even though some of the calls were for police looking for previous residents of the home, the number of calls that were related to Jordyn's family still seem too numerous, to me. JMO

AT 6:03 @RobinFox46 has new details from Jordyn Dumont's father of domestic violence concerns leading up to the 3-year-old's death

I just got back from physical therapy and saw this. Did anyone catch the news? It's probably a rehash of the bio dad's concerns that we've already seen but I'm curious in case there's something new.

The Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services was actively investigating Jordyn's family from March to May of this year-- and the 3-year-old's biological father had been pleading for help for his daughter.

DHHS acknowledging that in March of this year they began investigating neglect of the kids at the Bessemer City house because of improper supervision and substance abuse-- including 3-year-old Jordyn and her younger sibling.

DHHS workers visited the house five times between March 18 and May 19 of this year.

In a statement, DHHS said they "found no evidence that children lacked supervision or were impacted by parental substance abuse".

DHHS workers closed the case May 20, just three months before Jordyn was found dead.

Okay, so now we have DHHS officially confirming what Jordyn's bio dad has said to reporters. Notice the part about they "found no evidence that children lacked supervision or were impacted by parental substance abuse". So... there were drugs involved too. Great place to raise kids (sarcasm). SMDH.

ETA2: I understand that "not impacted by parental drug use" could mean no evidence of drug use but IIRC, Jordyn's bio dad said one of the DHHS recommendations was for McCullen to go to rehab.

I think the substance abuse was alcohol, if I remember correctly the recommendationso suggest treatment for excessive drinking. If it was drugs they would have been able to do more, unfortunately they can't do much about alcohol because it's a legal substance. My mother is a guardian ad litem and this is the biggest frustration in her job, they need physical evidence of abuse or drug use before they can do anything beyond making "recommendations".

sounds like mom was mad that bio dad reported her to CPS. they tend to get mad instead of consider their actions. I know from experience. smh.

that is sad for the kids. I think the reason they need more concrete evidence is because some spiteful parents cry "alcohol abuse!" when they are trying to get their way in court. dealing w one of those actually.

You may be right. Here's what the document said:

Social workers recommended that William Joseph McCullen seek a substance abuse assessment and follow through with all clinical recommendations. The letter to Kinnett also recommends the family ensure there is always a sober caretaker for the children. There was nothing legally binding about DHHS's suggestions, as they were listed in the letter as recommendations.

http://www.gastongazette.com/news/2...ers-involved-with-family-before-jordyns-death

So DHHS didn't directly recommend rehab; it's a little fuzzy though since "substance abuse" and "sober" could mean drugs or alcohol. If I had to guess... maybe both.

I wonder if that was what the black eyes that the neighbor talked about. If her mom was mad at her daddy, maybe it was bio daddy she was mad at.
