Mo Jo, I had a look through Victorian inquest findings available to the public and it appears that every case from the 90's onwards is closed to public viewing. I'm not sure why that is but you'd be aware that the Victorian police have become far more active in solving cold cases, even to the point of offering million dollar rewards for information, which is very commendable in my view. So it is possible that other suspects (other than the drug addict) are in the firing line in regards to Nicole Reid's murder and perhaps those leads came out of the inquest, hence the suppression order. JMO!
 
Was anybody able to calculate an easterly location from the centre of the JR, CG line?

I really think the Iona connection here is very much a coincidence. The CSK targeted women of a similar physical description in a specific area. This lady didn't match the general description and she wasn't in the area. There was also, iirc, around an 8yr gap in the ages between the CSK victims who attended Iona, not 4. I think the family of the missing woman are desperate to find her and willing to follow any lead, however farfetched. In my opinion they are grasping at straws with this particular link.

thats 3 girls from the same school murdered or missing, no girls from my old high school have met the same fate
i would be interested to see a picture of the missing melbourne mother 20 years ago, if the CSK is still active it is not unreasonable to assume he did this
 
The girls were not from the same school. Jane Rimmer attended Hollywood Senior High School.
 
You pick any suburb and knock off a bunch of women and chances are some would have attended the same school, even more so if you target wealthier areas as the chances of them attending the same private school are even greater, this is geographical coincidence, not some murderous conspiracy.

If there is a link the CSK would have had to have been searching for Lorrin Whitehead for 20 years just waiting for her to change her name back so he could locate her and strike, that to me sounds unlikely as hell.
 
There is plenty of schools in the area. Debra Marshall mentions Jane going to Iona, which may have been an earlier attendance before going Hollywood later. Either way it would be good to have some clarity with a source.
I presume the Continental Hotel closed at 12pm? Other pubs closed at 12pm in the same area? Cafe restaurants closed at 12pm?

Mystery man rocks up at 12pm?

Some time between 8.00 pm and 8:30 pm on Saturday the 8th of June, 1996, Jane Rimmer attended the Ocean Beach Hotel in Cottesloe. This is the same hotel that Sarah Spiers was drinking in on the night she disappeared.

At that location, Jane met up with some friends. They stayed there for about an hour , before Jane and her friends caught a taxi to the Continental Hotel in Claremont arriving at about 9:30 pm.

Jane and her friends stayed at the Continental Hotel until they left just after 11:30 pm, to go to Club Bay View. This is the same nightclub that Sarah Spiers was socialising at shortly before she went missing.

Jane and her friends didn’t enter the nightclub, instead they decided to catch a cab to a friend’s place where they would continue to party. As they got to the taxi rank near the Continental Hotel, Jane informed her friends that she didn’t want to go home and without any more explanation, she walked off back to the Continental.

This case is very suspect as well, Cutler 1988, Turner 1991

THE father of murdered teenager Kerry Turner says the pain is as raw today as when it happened in the winter of 1991.

This week marks 25 years since his 18-year-old daughter went missing in Perth and was found four weeks later in bushland 40km away.

Her killer was never caught and the murder remains unsolved.

John Turner has appealed for anyone with information about his daughter’s death to come forward along with WA police, who say people who were not willing to do so at the time might be now.

Mr Turner said he believed there were people out there who saw or knew something.

Kerry had been out nightclubbing on the night of June 29 with her best friend, but the pair had become separated.

From there witnesses saw her get into a dark blue car with distinctive wheels, possibly a Datsun 260z, after 5am.

One seat has been left vacant for their daughter, granddaughter, sister and aunty Sarah McMahon, who was 20 years old when she vanished while driving home from work 10 years ago today.

Sarah's mother Patricia McMahon believes her daughter is alive and hopes someone has information to help bring her home.

Sarah left her workplace, Hugall & Hoile in Claremont, about 5.20pm on November 8, 2000 after talking on the phone. Detectives believe she drove her 1986 white Ford Meteor, registration 7FO 731, to the Bassendean area for a prearranged meeting with someone.

There was an unconfirmed sighting of Sarah driving her car east on the Great Eastern Highway, towards her Parkerville home, and her car was found by her family in a carpark at Swan Health Service in Middle Swan days later.

It could also be a coincidence that she changed her name. If the CSK was stalking her, he could have been doing it under her married name - many people on Facebook have reference to their maiden name.

Saying this, I'm not convinced the cases are linked.
 
With Sarah McMahon, it is almost 100% certain that she was killed by Donald Morey, he has been all but proven guilty of killing her, he was an associate of hers, called her from the same area she went missing from within hours of her going missing, was nabbed for an attempted murder of another women some years later and at a coroners inquest into Sarah's disappearance swore black and blue that Sarah was still alive and that he knew where she was overseas but for her safety (or something along those lines) couldn't divulge this info to anyone. Sarah McMahon is not linked to the CSK whatsoever.

Kerry Turner is a different story altogether, I think she could make a great fit as an early CSK victim based on her having been out clubbing and being found dumped miles away, I'm not sure what police know that haven't had them ever publicly link the case in anyway but the circumstances do seem awfully familiar.

The CSK had 3 known victims in a space of about 20 months, this murder frequency is some what rare in a budding serial killer, I won't make up a stat but I know a good portion of serial killers have had their first kill 4 - 8 years prior to the murders picking up pace. Julie Cutler in 1988 would be a nice fit as a 'first kill' in terms of time frame, and if LW is in fact the CSK then that would almost be certain considering his links to her.

I hadn't really paid any attention to the Kerry Turner case and certainly had no idea of the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, so thank you crabstick for bringing that to my attention, certainly gives me something to put a little further research into.
 
CSK, so you are talking about a military man? Ex SAS??? Someone with navigation skills, trained in vehicles etc etc etc ??? Works for trucking company.

The DNA that police have, may not match the accomplice.

Before leaving work she had mentioned she was going to "see a bloke" in the Bassendean area that afternoon, the Coroner's Court heard.

The last person she took a call from was Donald Morey, a man 25 years her senior, who has since been convicted of trying to strangle a prostitute to death in 2003.

Currently serving 13 years' jail for the attempted murder, Morey, now 57 and in poor health due to a heart condition, appeared at the Perth inquest into Ms McMahon's suspected death on Friday.

According to a work log he kept for his job with a trucking company at the time, Morey had been cleaning and refuelling trucks at his workplace when Ms McMahon "disappeared".

A dark blue Datsum 260Z? Im not discounting Donald Morey. He strangled a prostitute. Donald Morey about the right age with all the skill sets to carry out this crime.

This whole crime fits his capacity.

Police have not revealed how JR or CG were killed. Nor have they revealed how GR was killed. Perhaps he was another victim?
