Very Australian-like in appearance too. Maybe just the photo though.
Though I don't see much of a resemblance myself, what I do see, after taking a quick look at Marion Sandford's case, is an eerie similarity to the disappearances of Toni Cavanaugh and Kay Docherty who went missing in Australia in July of 1979. They, too, sent letters home, stating they were meeting up with friends. It's nearly worded the same. This gave me the chills. Take a look for yourself and tell me what you think about the notes. Link about Kay and Toni: http://www.australianmissingpersonsregister.com/KayDocherty.htm Link about Marion and Linda http://www.smh.com.au/world/its-the...ll-missing-after-31-years-20111028-1mn1g.htmlI agree. I still think she looks like Marion Sanford from NZ.
In new MP reports (since I'd bet money that she isn't a publicly listed MP), I'm gonna pay extra attention to this:
"Originally from..." or "resided in..." Buckskin Girl had spent a third of her final year in the TX/OK area, and the remaining eight months in the Northeast. The isotopes said she'd spent approximately 2 months per visit in TX/OK, making 2 visits that year. Also, the pollen said that she'd been in the TX/OK area right before she died.
I have a new theory.
I know it's been brought up as a theory that she may have had a boyfriend/husband who was a trucker, and she went along with him on his trips. But I don't think she'd stay for 2 months there, twice, unless she had a specific reason to go. I feel she was visiting family in TX/OK with her boyfriend/husband. What I'd guess is her SO was abusive (possibly the reasons behind her scars), and on one visit to see her family, she was planning to leave him to stay with her family in TX/OK. He got into a fight with her, they reconciled, and went back on the road together to go back to the Northeast. I'm guessing at that point, a fight broke out, and in a fit of rage, he killed her (not premeditated). At this point, I'd guess he wasn't that close to Troy, maybe on the other side of Ohio or somewhere off in Indiana. It seems as though she'd been dead a day before her body was abandoned, since nobody came across it before and they probably would've, but the post-mortem interval was 2 days. So my guess is, he realizes she's dead, sticks her body in the trunk of his car, and drives in rural Ohio to dump her body.
So I could personally see something like "Samantha disappeared from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was originally from Owasso, Oklahoma, but resided in Newark, New Jersey at the time of her disappearance."
Good question. I've read through this thread but don't recall if anyone has contacted Australian authorities to see if she were one of their missing persons. I don't believe anyone has but I do recall folks speculation that she could be from Ireland.Hey Alleykins, I know BG's info was sent to the missing persons organization in Ireland and they put her NAMUS page on their website in case she is Irish (Bless their hearts) was her info sent to Australia so they could do the same?

I think Stephanie Hunsberger has been ruled out as Buckskin Jane Doe... Stephanie's NamUs page was updated today to reflect that they have fingerprint records on file. Buckskin Jane Doe's NamUs page was modified today as well. No Hunsberger, but there is a Stephanie Smith born in 1954 form Pennsylvania listed in the rule outs. I'm thinking this is probably her since there aren't any Stephanie Smiths in the NamUs MP database.
Yup, pretty sure Stephanie Smith is Stephanie Hunsberger. Her father was Jay Smith.
Thanks, rascal32:
Theory One: She was a prostitute working truck-stops. She was killed by somebody she had hitched a ride with.
Theory Two: She was a teenage/young adult runaway. She was killed by somebody she had hitched a ride with.
Theory Three: She had a SO who was a trucker. He killed her.
Theory Four: She was a drug runner.
Theory Five: She was Amish or Mennonite and had left them. No one knew to look for her.
Theory Six: She was killed by an abusive SO.
Theory Seven: She was a biker chick. She traveled with the other bikers. They killed her.
Theory Eight: She was the girl spotted in the bar. She was killed by someone who she met in the bar.
Since some of you mentioned on this thread about a possibility that this girl was from a foreign country such as Ireland, I started researching a little on missing people from here.
The information about Irish missing people online is scarce, but I did come across a girl that has a similar look to Buckskin, although she would be a little older.
The girls name is Aleida (Leidy) Kasperma. She is a Dutch national who went missing in South West Ireland in 1978.
It's a long shot that Aleida could be Buckskin girl, but they do have the same hair colouring, height and are around the same age. She would have been 29 years old, when BG was found. Below are links to some photos of Leidy, let me know what you think. Sorry, but I do not know how to embed the photos in the forum.

An article about Aleida's disappearance

The fact that Aleida never touched her bank account afterwards, nor took her passport, makes it more likely to me that foul play occurred and that she is not BG. However stranger things have happened and I suppose it is possible that she went off without her passport. Maybe it was easier to travel without one in the 70s? I dunno?
Anyway..I am rambling lol. Let me know what you think guys?
