Regina Tague, a Moore resident, described her son’s apparent motives – as she says he relayed to her after his arrest last week – during an interview to be broadcast in part during “48 Hours” on Saturday night.

She remembers he was "jittery" around the time of the murders, but said she didn't know. Mmm hmmm. Why in the world would you remember someone being "jittery" more than 10 years ago if there was not some super big significance to said jitteryness!? Give me a break.

Agreed. Intrigued for part 2. Sometimes the way things are edited make things sound odd.

I agree TTF14, and since she knew TK was a previous customer of the Super Bike Shop, she likely knew, imo.
The profile of the killer by FBI retired John Douglas, describing TK to a 'T' article was aired on November 5/2004.. She knew, imo.

Killer profiled as angry gunman By JANET S. SPENCER Staff Writer

A nationally known criminal profiler, author and former FBI agent said Thursday that one person shot and killed the four victims at Superbike Motorsports near Chesnee last year.
John Douglas described a trail of death after reviewing the file from Spartanburg County sheriff's investigators.

He said the killer acting alone fits the mold of a disgruntled customer or someone who wanted to get back at one of the victims.
Douglas thinks the positioning of the bodies and the number of times each was shot are significant to naming a killer as the one-year anniversary approaches and the case remains unsolved.

Looks as if there is a lot of info on the Facebook page: Todd Kohlhepp Case Discussion... I guess authorities are digging up areas in AZ... not sure if it is related, but some posts on that page seem to have good info!

Mom of accused serial killer Todd Kohlhepp: He 'is not a monster'

“Todd is not a monster,” Tague, told CBS 48 Hours correspondent David Begnaud. “He’s not even close to it. He wasn’t doing it for enjoyment. He was doing it because he was mad and he was hurt.”

Tague said the motorbike shop owner and an employee teased Kohlhepp about not knowing how to ride a motorcycle when he previously shopped at the store.

"Todd was bullied and embarrassed and I think he just held it in long enough," his mother told CNN.

Whoah, I've been out and on catch up.

*sits on hands waiting*

"Kohlhepp’s name was one of 15 highlighted on a list provided to police of 400 customers of the business, but that the 45-year-old real estate agent was never questioned."

I would like to say that I am shocked, but I'm not... Imo, this is the primary reason for the silence by Law Enforcement in many missing/murdered persons investigations. With a goal of identifying common denominators of M/M case investigations that are solved, compared to those that grow cold, In almost a decade of research, the ball was dropped in virtually every case.. 'Tragic'..

Perceived Hypothesis? Was retired FBI BSU/BAU John Douglas's extremely accurate profile disregarded? This is why many stranger/slight acquaintance abductions and homicides grow cold. Perceived hypothesis is also why the Adam Walsh case went cold for 3 decades...and there are over 200,000 unsolved homicides in the US since 1980...

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — The investigation into the 1981 death of Adam Walsh, the 6-year-old son of "America's Most Wanted" anchor John Walsh, is finally closed, after having been classified as an unsolved murder for 27 years.

Wow, if mom says so then it must be true!

Mom of accused serial killer Todd Kohlhepp: He 'is not a monster'

Wow, this woman is completely insane! Wonder how exactly she cultivated this serial killer? The FBI should study her! I wish we could sleuth her. Seems like she might have some skeletons in her closet too. Seems she feels insults are justification for murder so it makes me wonder...

Well TK wanted to talk to him mom as a request on his arrest. How long had it been since they had spoken? TK is a manipulator. His mom has likely been manipulated all of her life by him. What did he say to her? He likely knows how to push her buttons. Mix that in with traits like stubborness and disbelief and you get someone like her making unbelievable statements like that. JMO

It's just another example of why victims' families and friends should stay on top of investigations when their loved ones are crime victims and why they deserve public support when they do.. Often there's pressure to let the police do their job, but you really need to help micromanage these cases before they grow cold.

We'd all hate to be in the position of having to advocate on behalf of a loved one who has been murdered, I don't envy the burden they have to carry and the hard work they have to do. Maybe just lending public support for their cause helps.

There's really no telling what sort of sick and twisted relationship she's always had with her son. She didn't seem to think it was a very big deal he held a knife to a girl and raped her either. No child is that manipulative. She's not playing with a full deck.

It was a gun. A loaded gun.

It was a gun. A loaded gun.

Well, that's even worse! Thank you for the clarification it had been reported in another thread he held a knife to her during the rape but a gun seems even more terrifying!

.....and he tied her up and put tape over her mouth. It was a violent rape.

[mom] But he walked her home afterwards, so he's not a monster [/mom]

I wonder what her definition of a monster is.

He didn't "enjoy" it?? So, kinda like "this is gonna hurt me a lot more than it hurts you?"

It's not hard to see why he ended up the way he did.....as a monster.

Yeah, seems like there is an excuse for everything now. No accountability. Sad, really.
