This entire case has been just nuts... wasn't there a hearing or some type of activity scheduled for today? Wonder how it went...

Today's the day.

http://cbs12.com/news/local/drug-te...biting-killer-austin-harrouf-finally-revealed

We know Harrouff told detectives he “ate something bad,” that night, but now the discovery file will reveal if the FBI lab in Quantico uncovered any hallucinogenic drug in Harrouff's system.

Interviews with witnesses, all video and audio recordings they will enter into court as evidence, “everything,” as the prosecutor said, all 2,120 pages of the horrific case will be revealed tomorrow.

WELL, tomorrow is actually today, so now, we wait for WHAT time today...

I'm beginning to suspect they'll drop it (the doc) as they run out the door for Thanksgiving.

Update from the sheriff.

Gee, that was informative...:badmood::banghead::banghead:

“The FBI results are as we expected, they are negative for flakka, or Alpha-PVP. Importantly, the samples were collected within a timeframe that, had Austin ingested flakka, the levels would have been detected, and they were not,” Nellie King, the lawyer representing Mr. Harrouff said.

There was some alcohol, the source of which has not been determined, and minimal levels of THC in his system.

Not seeing any mention or particular interest in whether he was abusing anabolic steroids. Looks like this is headed for a mental insanity defense.

You can read the warrant and some of the findings on the news site. I still want to know other things that may help us understand how this suddenly happened with such serious consequences. I wonder how he was doing in college and what his gf, friends, and frat brothers had to say...yes, call me curious.

Where do you see fentanyl mentioned? I looked again and can't find where it's mentioned.

Wow, AH looks really dazed in those crime scene photos. It does not look like he is lucid, at all. That with his lawyer saying he is dealing with severe mental illness...

The report of no drugs leaves me wondering where the superhuman strength came from.

ETA: By the time the pics were taken, AH he had been Tased, kicked in the head multiple times, attacked by a K-9, etc. (if my memory is correct).

Did I understand that other drugs, such as fentynal were for treatment at the hospital? That is one very serious, strong pain medication. Many times stronger than morphine. some people do abuse it.

One could certainly experience a blackout mixing that with alcohol, if it is something he took illicitly.

Re: mental illness, I hope I can be straightforward about it. My mother has a terminal cardio illness. Her heart is broken and does not work right, it does not support her normal functioning and it will be fatal.
With mental illness, one's mind is broken. It does not support normal functioning. It is uncurable. Without treatment, destructive and damaging things occur and too often it is fatal also. High suicide risk. It is uncommonly sometimes responsible for harm to others.

Remember the sniper who was found to have a brain tumor?

This is a tough one, knowing what we know now. Mental illness is such a scary thing and must be treated as such. To find out that AH's family recorded some of the "bizarre" things he was saying but didn't seem to try to get him help, they really did him a disservice. I have a bipolar mom and I know how hard it is to get her committed against her will but there is no indication that anything was tried to help AH. I feel horribly for the victims and their families, but I consider Austin a victim, as well. By all accounts, this wasn't an act of evil, rather a young man practically screaming for help, and he didn't get it.
