The remains were found Feb. 26 on state land in Coxsackie, not far from an area where the Hudson River flows during floods and high tides.

Police searched the area for any other evidence that could have been linked to the discovery, and recovered clothes that may or may not be related, authorities said.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation announced late Monday that a forensic anthropologist had concluded that the skull portion was that of a child, likely a boy between the ages of 10 and 13. The remains had been exposed to the elements for 5 to 10 years.

Jaliek was 12 when he disappeared in November 2007.

Police have long theorized that Jaliek was killed and that his body may have been dumped into the Hudson River. Police searched different parts of the river from Greenwich south dozens of times as part of an exhaustive investigation.

I am from vermont and know SKs adopted daughter. he has really chilling eyes and I always had an uneasy feeling about him before knowing any of this.

Bell said he was initially told the tests would take two weeks or so, and he doesn’t know what has led to the delays. He said he has called the Medical Examiner’s Office and State Police, but has gotten no response from the medical office nor any explanation for the delay.

“I don’t know where it stands,” he said. “I’ve been getting a lot of calls about it.

I know this won't be a politically correct thing for me to say but I do feel bad for the adoptive parents. if they never would have adopted Jaliek, and in turn all his emotional/behavioral issues, they would not be in the position they are now in. My opinion is that they were stressed to the max from having to deal with him and "dad" harmed him in a moment of rage in response to Jaliek's actions. Not blaming Jaliek but if these "parents" would have not adopted a troubled child in the first place none of this would have happened.

There are a lot of adoptive parents that never should have adopted the kids they did in the 1st place. My friend Cathy who's daughter Alexis (adoptive name Aundria Bowman) was adopted by people that never should have qualified to adopt any kid, especially one that was said to have had fetal alcohol syndrome which was a lie. Alexis was perfect; but Catholic Charities put a spin on a story Cathy's mother had told them. The adoptive father was a sexual predator, ended up trying to sexually molest Alexis; but authorities did not believe her when she told; now she's assumed deceased at the hands of her adoptive father.

If I remember right, Jaliek's grandparents would have taken him if the adoptive parents needed a break

Thanks for the response. I've read about Alexis' case here as well. Heartbreaking. So, I have to wonder, why do people likes Alexis' and Jaliek's adoptive parents adopt in the first place? Good intentions? Financial motivation? I suppose it's any combination of factors.

As you can see on their pages are mostly private so you won't see what's on them but Jocelyn has some photos of their other adopted kids and stuff.

Yesterday was Jaliek's 22nd birthday so I thought I would keep this thread going. We need the full truth of this case 'cause it's been going on for way too long. I love reading this thread. No doubt Stephen and Jocelyn are guilty. Those two are big cowards, though. Refusing to cooperate. If they won't talk then they're hiding something.
 
I missed this report but it explains..what this elderly woman said in a nursing home I was at Nov 6th. ...She said I knew the family of the boy..the police never checked the cistern under the house...????
