Because, you know, the CIA probably requires him to keep two with him at all times.

I'm starting to think the CIA must have issued him a teleport, too. I can't believe they haven't been able to at least find his vehicle. It's like he just vanished.

Have not had the opportunity yet to read all of the posts, but just wandering if anyone has considered that they are hiding out with a cult or militia group? Particularly a cult of some sort, because some cults are likely of the belief that marriage to a 15 year old is perfectly legit. It may even have folks on hand to do the marrying (didn't she change her status to married?). For example, some fundamentalist religious cults who may claim to base their views on Christianity would perhaps view the betrothal of Mary by Joseph at 13 years old to mean that girls that old - even nowadays - are within "Biblical" parameters. Just a possibility. Don't know how likely.

I don't think we've really talked much about cults, but that actually would make a lot of sense. If he's found a group that doesn't find anything wrong with men taking child-brides, they probably wouldn't be inclined to go to law enforcement because they wouldn't believe he was breaking any laws...that's very interesting. I wonder if TBI has considered this angle?

I brought this up a few threads back. They could be heading to the Creek ' Colorado City, Utah, where the FLDS and similar freaks live and have underage brides.

Possibly, but there would be a digital trail.

Survivalists and preppers though, that might be more of a common knowledge sort of thing. But... his ego and self-importance- would he join a group and have to follow their rules and do as he's told?

For some reason I think he views it as them against the world. Their love and Jesus will get them through.

In my opinion only, they are holed up in someone's off season semi-luxury digs and he is taking glamour photos of her.
That is the politest way I can put my dark, but not unreasonable thoughts.
I could be very wrong, but it fits the profile of him which I have built in my mind, and the situation he has designed.

It's definitely worth looking into. I'm still convinced they're hiding out somewhere not far from home, but anything is possible at this point.

Have seen Great Smoky National Park and surrounding areas mentioned several times as possible hiding spots. I'm not that familiar with the TN section but the main problems I see - at least in NC - would be the vehicle and the cost. Staying in cabins etc is seriously expensive and limited cash wouldn't last long. The campgrounds that I'm familiar with require checking in (plus most have offices or little stores that are attended) and since the local news (from out of Asheville) has been showing the Amber Alert it seems like the vehicle (at least) would be recognized. Hotels also require the make of the vehicle and license tag plus the car would be in plain sight and they're almost as expensive as cabin rentals. If they left the vehicle in a parking lot (say of a store or even the casino) they would have to get to where they're going by foot and that would take some doing (as in walking a long distance and into a remote area) plus I believe the vehicle would be noticed if it sat in any spot (out in the open) for any amount of time. I do however remember going to visit a friend that used to work at a fire lookout tower up on the Blue Ridge Parkway and being able to use an access road to get to it. I have no idea if the tower is manned anymore or not - this was years ago when we first moved to Cherokee, NC. And I'm not sure that many people from outside the area would know about places like that (not big tourist spots and very easy to miss when driving unless you know what to look for). The tower was Barnett Knob Fire Tower located not that far from the Big Witch Creek Overlook (off the parkway). Edited to add that I'm sure there are other access roads plus I know there are other (very rough) roads that lead off the parkway and probably the GSMNP too - again more likely something locals would know about...)This website shows the tower and also has links to other "hiking" locations (but with hiking they'd have to hide the vehicle -- with an access road not so much)... http://www.atraillife.com/serial-hiking/barnett-knob-fire-tower

Every time I read a report that recounts the actions (or lack thereof) of the school district I am shocked all over again at their complete and utter failure to take every step necessary to protect the students in that school district from a predator. I mean really . . . TC wasn't fired until the day AFTER he abducted ET?!!!!! It's like they need story boards drawn out to be able to catch on.

Also, I keep getting stuck on ET telling a sibling to call police if she isn't home by 6:00 on the day she's abducted. I keep trying to figure this out and a possible scenario finally came to me. What if TC had come to her with the idea of running away and getting married? However, ET didn't want to run away - she just wanted to get married. So TC tried to sell her on the idea that he was okay with just getting married and not running away, but she had her reservations. She went with him that day under the expectation of just getting married, but was suspicious that TC hadn't let go of the idea of running away together so she told her sibling to cal police if she wasn't back by 6:00. This might not be what happened, but I'm just trying to come up with an explanation for ET's apparent hesitation that makes sense.

I have been following this since Day 1. IMO, of everything we have heard, I think the sighting in Corpus Christi was them. We all know that once the FBI gets on the case, no new information is going to be verified or released. I personally do not think they are anywhere around the NC/TN area. He would have to provide a better location to get the 15 year old to go with him. At that age, they are looking for adventure.

You don't run away with a 50 year old man for a vacation. He's manipulated her into believing their relationship is the adventure. When they left, assuming she went willingly, she would go anywhere they could be together. Together is the adventure.

They have to be hiding in a place where TC can also hide the vehicle (i.e., abandoned house, abandoned building, etc.) - unless the original vehicle has been ditched and TC used some of the cash he has to buy another used, cheap vehicle. However, I think TC must have planned ahead and found some place where they could hide and live somewhat normally. Even if ET is going along with this to some degree because of coercion, I don't think she would believe this is her fairy tale come true if they're having to hide in abandoned buildings without running water, electricity, furniture, or anything else that resembles a normal home.

But at the same time they have to be in a place where there aren't a lot of people. I don't think TC would take the risk of being around large groups of people who they would have to "socialize" with to some extent - like in a cult or fringe group. It's a big risk to take even with groups who are anti-LE.

TC could also have more cash than just the money from the $4,500 loan. TC had had at least a month to plan the escape so he easily could have been stashing cash during this time. Plus, we don't know how long TC was planning to kidnap ET and take off. This plan could have been in the works for several months for all we know. TC could have several thousand dollars more than LE has stated.

Last point, I don't think they're staying in hotels or motels because that's too risky. I've traveled a LOT with my profession and in my personal life (4-5 trips a year just for my daughter's competitive sport - in addition to my work travel). Hotels almost 100% of the time have the news running 24/7 on their lobby or cafe TVs, which greatly increases the possibility of being spotted. However, it's very seldom I've stayed at a hotel that asks for vehicle information. I can recall being asked for this information many years ago on a more regular basis, but in more recent years I haven't been asked for this information at all.

Even though TC was fired from his job, I wonder if he got a severance package, or money for any unpaid leave he man have accumulated? That would give him more money.

I'm fairly sure that it would take awhile to process the paperwork after his severance. I'M sure it will come in very, very handy when he can access it. He wasn't dismissed until after he drove off.
I'm not sure how he could access that money without signing something or leaving a trail, at least making an email or phone call. It would be contractual in my opinion. Full of legalese.
Not the nice cash-in-hand Tad would be looking for now he's living large.

GMA just aired a piece on this case. Hoping this helps make people more aware of these two now.

I can't speak to every school's contracts, but as someone in the education field, I consider it HIGHLY, 99.9% unlikely that he could access any severance funds because some of his actions are without a doubt in breach of contract. If there was some bizarre clause that allowed him to cash in unused sick days or something (even after committing an illegal act that broke contract), he would need to return, the investigation would be completed, a determination would be made, and he would have to sign termination papers that release the school from liability regarding the termination of his employment (him suing).

Where did a poster here get the info that he went to her work and ET told workers to lie to him that she wasn't working that day. He hid in bathroom. She was probably embarrassed of the old man at her work.

Elizabeth’s father said Cummins went into Elizabeth’s work and she begged a co-worker to tell him she wasn’t there.

Elizabeth reportedly hid in the bathroom while Cummins was in the business.

As of Saturday afternoon, the TBI had received 985 tips, with 116 still open and being pursued.

I've been wondering about the mention of the CIA. He obviously musta told others/students that he worked for the CIA?
