Welcome to Websleuths.

:welcome:

I hope you will continue to post on this case as we look for justice for Isabel.

Thank you. Long time lurker, finally joined last month, and decided to post tonight. I had first heard this case on The Vanished Podcast, and I'm in the group on FB. I saw this posted in there tonight.

The family of a Tucson girl who was found dead nearly five years after going missing from her bedroom has issued a statement thanking the community for support and asking for privacy.

The family of six-year-old Isabel Celis said in a statement issued by Tucson Medical Center, where the girl's mother works, that it is their time to mourn.

Tucson Medical Center grieves for Isabel Celis; issues statement from family

Tucson Medical Center is mourning the news about Isabel Celis and would like to share the following from President and Chief Executive Officer Judy Rich.

“This is not the news we had hoped to hear. Becky has been a member of the TMC family for many years, and our hearts grieve for Isa and her family.

We ask that the privacy of the family is respected during this tragic time.”

The family has asked that TMC share the following statement on their behalf:

We want to thank the community for the support they have continued to show for Isa over the years and for refusing to give up hope. Now is our time to mourn. We ask for our privacy during this time so that we can do that.”

The family has no additional comment at this time. Additional inquiries to the family should be directed to TMC.

"He said the department followed up on more than 2,200 leads in the case and that they will continue the investigation to locate anyone connected to the girl's death."

"Magnus said the department received a tip, which lead to the discovery of the remains."

No. He said they found the remains "not by happenstance" but he wouldn't be nailed down on tip/search, etc.

Rest in Peace Isa. At least much of this nightmaire is resolved. On a positive note, this case led to thousands a of others' lives being saved.

Justin Mastromarino has never been named a suspect in Isabel's disappearance. But the family is suspicious because he left town just days after Isabel went missing.

Sergio and Becky want to talk to Justin, but he's telling them, and Crime Watch Daily, to talk to his lawyer. And his lawyer told us he's not talking either.

So Crime Watch Daily traveled to Mastromarino's mother's place in Florida, where Celis family P.I. Snyder says Justin shipped his Jeep to try for answers. We want to give him the opportunity to tell us what he knows, if anything, about the disappearance of Isabel.

We tried every door on the property, with no response. Neither Justin nor his mother answered our pleas to speak about Isabel.

Despite the family's suspicions and the private investigator's allegations, Tucson Police are still looking at a number of other possible suspects.

"We've spoken to several of the P.I.s that were hired by the family, and unfortunately for them, they don't have all the information that we have, so they can come to their own conclusions," said Tucson Police Detective Greg Wright. "But no, I don't share their conclusions."

Wow..I can't believe she was finally found. RIP Isabel.

I don't believe they "aren't any closer to solving the case". Something led them here

Oh no :( Poor sweet beautiful child.
I thought often about Isa, I honestly didn't think they'd ever find her. I'm so sad, Rest In Peace sweet Isa, they must find who did it!
I wonder if Sierra Lamar will be found soon as well, I've been following both cases closely.
:grouphug:.

So sorry to see this news. RIP little angel girl. I so hope they can determine what happened and who took this beautiful child's life.

Can't figure out why only the Arizona Republic is reporting the family's suspicions about a relative who refused to cooperate. Where did that information come from? It is not part of the statement released, and it's not being reported by any of the local Tucson media. Maybe the Phoenix reporters talked to the couple directly, I guess.

The family has been the ones pushing the "uncooperative relative" angle all along. They'll keep that agenda going, I'm sure. I think he was uncooperative because he knows what happened, not because he was the one who did it. I think he was trying to keep a family together. Severely misplaced loyalty.

Magnus said the department is still asking for tips and that he believes people might know something about happened to Celis. "We appreciate the fact that this case has been very traumatic. In fact, reverberations of this have gone well beyond Tucson and even Arizona, (and) have affected people throughout the country," he said.
