MURRIETA, Calif. - Nearly a week has gone by since a Murrieta woman was reported missing after leaving her home for a hike on the Tenaja Trail, and detectives are asking the public’s for help finding her.

Deputies brought a bloodhound to the area Jennifer Kinsella-Grindle, 41, a mother of three, was last seen but the dog lost her scent halfway down the trail, according to family friend James Nesvacil.

Officials said she was last seen wearing sandals, a tank top and shorts. Her car, purse and cell phone where found near the trail.

Deputies haven’t said if foul play is suspected or if she is considered a voluntary missing person.

Anyone who sees Kinsella-Grindle is asked to call 911 or contact the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at 951-245-3300.

Her husband has confirmed it on FB but I can't find it anywhere in MSM yet

Still no report on MSM. Will post link when it's available (unless someone beats me to out of course).

It's weird that the article about her missing comes up on the homepage for our local news. Only in the comments does one person say she has been found deceased. That comment was posted 11 hours ago. The article is dated for 6:07 9-1-17. Has the family asked that the update not be released? Are they trying to make contact with family besides the husband? I'd think they would at least move the article.

Can you post a link to the husband's comment?

RIP. I wonder if COD has been released? Is this a foul-play case?! So sad.

Maybe she was hit by a stray bullet? The article says it was opening day for dove hunting...

If she disappeared a week ago, and dove hunting just started, she shouldn't have been killed by a stray bullet from a hunter, unless it was someone out there illegally before the season started. FWIW.

The body was found Friday evening near the Tenaja Falls trailhead, Riverside County sheriff’s Deputy Armando Munoz said. He said the body has not yet been positively identified; an autopsy is pending....
Kinsella-Grindle’s purse and cell phone were found along the trail, near where she had parked her vehicle, authorities said.

The items were found near her car. But, were they found near her? I do not know much about hiking, but are flip flops appropriate footwear for around there?

I would say no. At least I know I wouldn't wear that to walk very far. There's a lot possible scenarios, including her meeting someone, which ended up to be fatal. The local concern is whether or not others need to wary of 'stranger danger' in the area, versus some sort of accident or self-imposed harm. We need to wait and see what the autopsy uncovers to know what the situation is.

I wonder if her husband has been given advice from someone. I kept checking his FB for updates (hoping that he'd specify COD) and just noticed that now... everything is private. I bet LE (or someone else) has given him advice to change it (for some reason).

Then there's this article too...

Definitely lots of questions. I hope things are clear very soon and that no foul play was involved.

This is a strange case in that the Sheriffs Office never publicly asked for assistance in locating her. They won't say anything now. The husband was once open about her being deceased, now states that it has not been confirmed to be her. Yet, there is a for her funeral. No one is answering any questions about her and what happened to her at all. Even the media seems to be starting to question all of this hush hush business.

Please know that I am trying to be as tactful and respectful as possible in addressing this delicate topic. Murrieta is about 10 miles from me. During the time Jennifer was missing it was HOT here. We were under severe heat warnings. It reached 110 degrees nearly every for a week. Perhaps this is part of what the delay in making an identification is.

Regarding flip flops and hiking- I love flip flops. I hike A LOT. I have never hiked in flip flops. I have, however, worn flip flops to the trail head and then changed into boots. Possibly this is what Jennifer did or she wasn't intending to go for a hike. Maybe she was meeting someone or she unexpectedly ended up at the trail and decided to explore a little. I am not familiar with this trail.

Missing Murrieta woman’s husband still waiting to hear whether body found near trail is hers

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office was still attempting Tuesday, Sept. 5, to identify the woman’s body found Friday on a hiking trail in the mountains west of Murrieta, authorities said.

Although her husband, Tom Grindle, wrote in a Facebook post Saturday that he had been notified that “our beautiful, loving, caring, intelligent, Jennifer has left us” and referenced planning a memorial, Grindle said in an interview Tuesday that authorities had not given him official confirmation of her death.
