Testimony from Monday afternoon:

Lt. Jeff Smith with the Graham Police Department testified Monday, Sept. 25, that several things Elton Carroll “E.C.” Blair Jr. did during the investigation of Leah Martin’s murder were questionable.

On the stand, Smith testified that something he thought was significant was that, in the interview, Blair referred to Leah in past tense, as if he already knew she was dead, even though her body had not yet been found. Again, Smith deemed that “suspicious.”

Cross examination of Lt. Smith continued on Thursday morning:

From Thursday afternoon:

Texas Ranger Toby Catlin took the witness stand in Breckenridge Thursday afternoon, Sept. 28, and testified that he thinks the evidence points to E.C. Blair as definitely being involved in the murder of Leah Martin in May 2015..

On May 29, 2015, the day Martin disappeared, mixed into the phone calls and texts between Martin and Blair and between Blair, Hellams and Minkley are calls and texts between Martin and a car salesperson, as well as between Blair and the salesperson. Those communications are considered significant by the prosecution because they allege Blair used the promise of co-signing for a car loan for Martin that night to lure her to the auto shop and, ultimately, to her death.

Friday afternoon:

District Judge Stephen Bristow declined to revoke the bond of murder defendant Elton Carroll “E.C.” Blair at the end of Friday afternoon’s proceedings, despite a request from the prosecution.

Special prosecutor David Alex requested the revocation after witness Mario Espinoza’s testimony didn’t match the statement he gave to the police two years ago during the investigation into the disappearance and death of Leah Martin in May 2015. At that time, Espinoza was the manager of the Auto Zone store in Graham, and Blair’s business, E.C.’s Auto Repair, had a commercial account with the store.

During Alex’s line of questioning about the inconsistencies, he asked the witness when he had last spoken with Blair. Espinoza said he had talked to Blair about two weeks ago.

"In another end-of-the-day court request, with no jury present, District Attorney Dee Peavy and Special Prosecutor David Alex asked that they be allowed to present extraneous evidence in the case that they say shows that Blair has a history that involves actions similar to those for which he is on trial."

“The defendant E.C. Blair on a previous occasion had an affair with the mother of his son Aaron Blair’s son, Aaron’s girlfriend that he had a baby with,” Peavy said. When the woman tried to break off the relationship with Blair, he paid one of his employees to throw bricks through her window and her car, the district attorney alleged.

OMG! Grandpa is such a creep!!!!!

I'm so shocked to see this. He sounds like a player and true con artist. He needs to go on the RSO list! I bet he has a lot more victims out there. I see the pattern.

Hopefully, tomorrow brings all truth forward, jury deliberations, and that awesome guilty verdict. This 100% puts me into the guilty beyond a shadow of doubt.

What is everyone else feeling? Has the state done a good job proving guilt this far in your opinion?

The truth has come to light I hope. I've always thought he was creepy but this solidifies my thinking. What kind of man has an affair with 2 of his sons baby mamas?

It's inconceivable! To add to that, he still has that son and his wife on his side supporting him! Mind blowing!

I don't understand how people can support someone who did so much harm. Maybe they are afraid?

What??? Did they not have enough evidence?

Blair found not guilty.[/QUOTE]
