COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. – Police are searching for a missing Colonial Heights man who was last seen at his home on Friday, November 17 around 6 p.m.

Police say 38-year-old Mark Anthony Middlebrooks has medical issues in may be in danger.

The day after Middlebrooks went missing, he was reportedly seen in Essex County around 5 p.m.


Middlebrooks is believed to be driving a 1996 white Lexus 4 door sedan, with Virginia license plate VXS7260. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a green button-down shirt and black Nike tennis shoes.

Middlebrooks is described as a white male, 6’5’’ tall, 230 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.

Mark Middlebrooks was last seen with a friend in Essex County driving a white Lexus on Saturday, Nov. 18.

8News Reporter Tracey Smith spoke with Middlebrooks’ wife Amy who said his disappearance has thrown the family for a loop.

He had texted me Saturday night and said that he was on his way home and we were texting back and forth and next thing I know, his phone just went dead,” Amy said.

She said the last time she spoke with Mark, he told her he was on the way home.

But he never made it.

Colonial Heights Police Department has called this disappearance suspicious.

“I’m terrified that I’m going to get the call that he’s not here anymore and that he’s not coming home to the kids and I don’t understand why,” she said.

Colonial Heights detectives made a trip to Essex County Tuesday, searching for anyone who may have had contact with Middlebrooks.

His family and friends say as a son, and a father of six, it's not like Middlebrooks to vanish without a trace, considering he has one child who is special needs, and parents who depend on his help.

And he always has his cell phone in his hand. "He’s a heavy phone user, and is always on social media, none of which he has used,” said his distraught wife.

Mark Middlebrooks has a noticeable king of hearts tattoo on his neck and is believed to be driving a 1996 white Lexus 4 door sedan, with Virginia license plate VXS7260.
