Volusia sheriff’s deputies need help finding an Orange City woman missing from her home, a sheriff’s spokesman said Wednesday night.

Authorities want to locate Erin Boyd, 31, last seen late Sunday night. Her phone, keys, vehicle and credit/debit cards were left at her home on Shady Lane in Orange City, said sheriff’s spokesman Andrew Gant.

Boyd is white, 5-foot-3, and has brown and blonde hair and blue eyes. Her date of birth is Nov. 23, 1986, Gant said.

Anyone who sees Boyd or has any information on her whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1, Gant said.

It doesn't sound good. Normally, they ask people to notify police if they have information. But this asks people to call 911.

Does Erin live alone? Erins approx address is in the middle of nowhere. Does she have a boyfriend? Would she have been picked up by a friend or relative? What were her plans Sunday night? Does anyone know? No girl leaves without her phone or house keys. Even if she got a ride, I can’t see her leaving without her personal belongings. This tells me there is a serious problem. Who else in her life is also missing? Anyone? Is she married? Kids? I wanna help.

Woman who was reported missing lied about abduction, Volusia deputies say

A woman who was found at a motel in DeLand after her boyfriend reported her missing is accused of lying about being abducted, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

While deputies were at Chimney Corner Motel in DeLand on Thursday, Boyd called from her motel room and asked for deputies to let her out, "as if she was being held against her will," a news release said.

She told deputies that she was "intimidated" into leaving her home and going to the motel, and she had been deprived of her cellphone, according to authorities.

Deputies said they later found her cellphone in the motel room toilet, which had been empty when they first began questioning her about the circumstances of her disappearance.

Boyd told deputies again Friday that she was held against her will, but deputies determined that her claim was false, according to a news release.

Boyd is charged with making a false report to law enforcement officials and making a false official statement.
