SHELBY COUNTY (WTHR) - Kayakers found a body in the Big Blue River Sunday afternoon.
The Shelby County sheriff's office confirms they recovered an unidentified body from the river a few miles west of Shelbyville.
No word yet what caused the victim's death. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

***Still Waiting For Official Announcement***
But many people believe this to be Chris Young, as all communication from the family has stopped since yesterday, & those close to them say they have been terribly upset by sudden news.

RIP, Christopher.

I wonder why his nickname was "bulldog" when he was only 150lbs and average height...

Regardless, very sad for those who loved this man. And for his dogs.

Indeed I am sad on hearing that Christopher has been found deceased.
RIP 🥀

Even sadder -
The man’s father, Rusty Young, tells FOX59 that he and his older son found him while kayaking.

Shelbyville Police say they are still waiting for further autopsy and toxicology results in order to determine how Young died. One police official said there was indication that Young’s body had been in the water “for some time.”

The missing person investigation is now being treated as a death investigation.

I do hope if foul play is involved that the family is able to get justice for Christopher.

:rose: RIP Christopher :rose:

*sending hugs to his dad and older son*

hmmm, always so much worse when I hear that a parent or sibling finds the body of a loved one. I wonder if they were searching when they found him or just out kayaking. I imagine they were actually looking for him, but if so, I wonder why there?

Agree with this - odd thing to go kyaking this late in the year while a family member is missing unless you're explicitly searching but something about that doesn't add up.

Also I've frantically searched for a pet that got out before, but never without my pants or shoes.

I can't imagine finding my loved one in that way.
ETA He was missing way too long and perhaps the family suspected. Trying to locate info on the river where he was found.

Hoping this link and pic is ok, the Big Blue River where Christopher was sadly found-
