A family is searching for a missing Lockport man who hasn't been seen since March 21. Sean Joy, 20, was last seen around midnight at Ninth and State Street.

Joy is 5'10", white, wears glasses, and may be wearing a yellow and sky blue hoodie.

His family said Joy could be anywhere at this point, and asks the public to share anything they may know.

He was last seen wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt.

Police and family members are looking for a missing Lockport man who appears to have left his home without taking his phone, wallet or credit cards.

Lockport police Sgt. John Arizzi said Sean Joy, 20, went missing from his Lockport home on March 21. He left a vague note, Arizzi said, which stated that he was “sorry.”

“It didn’t indicate that he intended to harm himself,” Arizzi said.

Police said a witness reported seeing someone matching Joy’s description shortly after midnight on March 22 walking in the general direction of the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal.

Arizzi said police extensively searched the canal and the surrounding wooded area, including by using drones.

Sean Joy has been missing since 3-21-18. His wallet and ID's as well as his phone were left at home. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a purple sweater, either a maroon or light blue and yellow hooded sweatshirt, marked "KING ELECTRIC.
Sean has in the past traveled with family to the Southwest USA and Mexico.
He is a musician and electrician.

Leg is from a white male:

Workers were assisting a ship through the lock and one of the deck hands on the boat observed a leg floating in the locks nearby.

It appears to be a the right leg of a while male, police say.
Authorities are checking area police departments for any missing persons. The remains will be tested for DNA.

[h=1]Body Identified As Missing Lockport Man: Coroner[/h]

LOCKPORT, IL — A body found in the Des Plaines River on Friday has been identified as missing Lockport man Sean Joy. According to the Will County Coroner's Office, Joy's body was found in the Des Plaines River just south of the Ruby Street Bridge in Joliet.

The Will County Sheriff's Office began the search for a body after a human leg was discovered in the Lockport Lock on April 11. The body and the leg were positively identified as Joy's through dental comparison, the coroner's office said in a release.
