Ok so, regardless how it's done so long as it's regulated, an account set up with a bank for reward money would be the way to go. We would need to check with Crimestoppers to see if they can be administrators on a special account for Lucas, or check with WPD for similar. If nothing else, I've seen several local banks set up accounts over the years for fundraising -- transplants, cancer treatment, memorials, etc -- and you let the bank handle the account, deposits only until predetermined conditions are met for funds to be released.

You're right Wildcat--we need PB to weigh in with her experience. Do rewards help, statistically? Or do they just bring out crazy theories (like my numerology one upthread)?

My concern is the plethora of fundraising activities that have already taken place -- diverse groups selling items, the most recent trying to hire a PI, a reward in existence already, and now the possibility of trying to raise more money. People are skeptical and I'm afraid they'll become weary -- but if there's a good chance it will work, we should definitely try!
I think all the fundraising IS the problem. To many , bracelets, tshirts, bake sales etc. The money all should of went into one fund from the beginning.

Unless a reputable organization steps up for Wichita to raise the money for Lucas now no one will want to give.

Even a church would be good and more believable at this point..

Excuse this but this was my thought on the t-shirts...

My daughter-in-law is a reading and math specialist she has a small tshirt business on the side at home. She could of made those shirts for at least 5 dollars less and still made money.

Why did they need the t-shirts? I would of rather given that 20 dollars to a reward for Lucas if I was asked.

If a church opens a fund for a reward for Lucas I will make a sizable donation.

This brings me back to the question...what was the LL doing there exactly? Has that been determined?

I know we have discussed the cat, and him coming to verify if it was still there...but is that a fact? I don't think so...IIRC

So, was he there to look at the door? I feel doubtful about that now that I think about it...I don't think EG would even be responsible enough to care if it was broken... (reference...her story is that she invited in the 'scary people that scare me so much that I take a pic and send it to JH'

Was LL there for $ because they were not paid up in full on rent?

I guess I am just curious why LL was there...but I am glad he was as far as narrowing things down.

BBM- EG would have a difficult time 'napping' away an expected/likely visit in this scenario, incentive to pop out & make a little extra money on the side in the event she'd spent up the difference of rent owed, found.

Every charity that I work with requires two board member signatures for all checks and withdrawals

I fully believe both of your accounts of 'how things are done' in your spheres of influence; question being how best set up an account to 'buy' information from some sidelined bystander in EG's circle sitting on TMI?

Do you think they owed rent or the remainder of a security deposit and since JH had been home the LL thought he could collect remainder.

I have often allowed that.

Did LL live across the street?

Does Wichita not have a Crime Stoppers reward fund? I know up here in the Kansas City area they just created a $10,000 fund for tips on certain crimes. So far it is working. I have seen where some have small like $5,000 and I think people can add to it for a certain case.

They do...and in Lucas’ case I think it is up to $6800 now total - the bake sales/ribbon fundraisers (not held by family) have been contributing to that one

Fundraising (shirts, bracelets, GFMs, etc.) are usually organized by family and/or a few friends who work well together. Unfortunately that didn’t happen in this case. Things are too contentious between various family members.

It makes it’s difficult for those who want to donate. I wish I could make a flyer with a specific reward amount. Unfortunately, I honestly have no idea how much the reward is. Money has been offered, then rescinded. I’ve seen different fundraisers, but don’t know if the funds are going towards a reward, TEQ, searchers, a PI...???

Since we're throwing out ideas... what about the fact that JH thinks JO took Lucas. I mean, we know that's not the case, but where did he get that idea? EG? She DID say JO had him on VD, so she seems to be leaning that way. Some EG supporter? If we also think that it's possible that EG had help (even after the fact), could that person be the one who then spread the idea that JO took him? If so, is it possible that that person (or EG herself) set it up to look that way?

Basically, have we explored the fact that this could be set up to look like JO did something, and therefore check places that would coincide with that? Places around where JO lives/lived, went to school, etc.

In my experience from renting apartments and houses & my adult daughter's, it is common to have the LL come and fix things once you are settled in after a move. A faucet drips, a smell of natural gas, a clogged toilet...BUT every single time,we called the LL and set up a time for them to come over, esp if we were renting someone's house. The LL never ever showed up on his own. It has been about 3 years since my daughter rented, but the LL would even call or text her that he was on his way. The only thing I can come up with for a surprise visit,is to check to see if the cat was gone.

Maybe the LL had an appointment to fix something and EG spaced it because of the multiple bowls of whatever she smoked.
I don't know how things are in KS, but in my state, the LL has to give you 24 hours notice before entering. Of course, he/she could've just been picking up some money, but you'd think they'd call first anyway so they didn't waste a trip.

This is gross but I am going to ask it. Have searchers been shown a video of what to expect a body to look like at this stage of decomp?

I am asking this because if they haven't they just might of missed it. It can literally be gone. Unrecognizable. Nothing left.

I am going to suggest searchers research it and watch a body farm video.

It just might be that he has been overlooked.

This has baffled me as well, to be honest. Why was the landord there, especially on a Friday night?

I read but mostly lurk but want to give an opinion regarding EG's bruised knuckles. It's not an easy thing to say... maybe it's caused from beating LH and not from hiding him. To me they look like bruises from hitting something or someone.

, one of our VI's, has said they were shallow scratches.

That’s my personal thought as well.

I wonder if EG has access to a chest style freezer maybe she told someone she bought a side of beef and needed to store it but instead she wrapped up sweet little Lucas after beating him a little worse than usual. Maybe she even has a friend that works at OG and was able to store him in the back of a walk-in freezer. She could have planned to wait until all the searching was over then taken him somewhere after all the initial urgency was gone, but she screwed up that plan by getting arrested for CE

Ohhh, I missed that. Shallow scratches sound like concrete. Maybe scooping something up off of concrete. If she were moving a body, it would probably be by holding an arm and a leg... not scooping it up. Unless it was wrapped in something. Also, if it was in something with a bottom that could give out (like a cardboard box), it would also need to be scooped up from the bottom.

I think this is going to turn out to be pretty simple. I think it will be EG beat Lucas to death, hid the body nearby, stopped by to see someone and tell them what happened. Didn't call first, because that's traceable. She and her confidant conjured up a story, and now we're here.
I wouldn't be surprised if the confidant has told someone too and then that person, etc. The pipeline of people.........who's in the pipeline?

I hope it's raining again in Kansas. Is it?

Could be. Or she met someone at OG, and that person returned home with her and was there (but not necessarily assisting) when it all happened. Maybe that person had a history of helping EG out of similar situations.

Wow, never even gave a freezer chest a thought! I have heard of people storing their victims in freezers in the past. There's no way a restaurant would store anything from a customer, not even a friend of an employee, but, could there be someone she knows that has a freezer in their home?
