I don`t recall the last clothing description that Diana was wearing to include a bra, however it may not have been mentioned. The bicycle in close proximity makes me lean more towards no because she didn`t take one when she disappeared.

Besides those 2 things the location is possible due to JG`s travels during those first 48 hours. It`s approximately 22.9 miles from Unique Circle.

If not Diana, it`s another person (child) taken from this earth. Hopefully Lee County will expedite the identity.
 
I wonder if she would have worn a bra at that age. She just turned 9 right? It kind of sounds like the person that said they saw a hand sticking out of the ground. I wonder if that means not a skeletal (hand) remain.

I thought of those things too. I think the bike may be unrelated since the body description makes it sound like this person was buried (hand sticking out of ground). I looked and did not find any other missing children or young women from nearby. I just keep thinking of Diana because there was "ribbon and hair". There is a picture of Diana in a purple dress with a dark blue ribbon hair bow. I can't seem to get it to copy here but if you do an google image search it should show up. I hope they are able to make a swift ID to bring closure to a hurting family. This is someone's loved one. :(

I was thinking about Diana today and searched to see if there were any updates on her. I found some articles that I'm not sure have been posted yet.

Documents refer to ‘murder’ of Diana Alvarez

Newly released documents from the state attorney’s office make reference to the “murder” of Diana Alvarez.

The disappearance of the San Carlos Park girl is still being treated by authorities as a missing person’s case, but the findings represent the first time the term “murder” has been formally used in relation to the girl, who was 9 when she vanished on May 29, 2016.

“This is a classic case where a child was abducted and possibly the worst may have happened to her,” said Walt Zalisko, a private investigator hired by Diana’s family.

The documents detail an interview the Lee County Sheriff’s Office conducted with Juan Laverde, an inmate who spent time in jail with 29-year-old Jorge Guerrero of Mexico, the only suspect in the child’s disappearance.

Laverde told sheriff’s investigators Guerrero asked him how much time he’d face for “the murder charge.” Guerrero told Laverde he thought he’d be charged for rape, kidnapping and murder, Laverde said.

Man suspected of kidnapping 9-year-old admitted to killing her

New information has revealed more to the investigation into missing Lee County girl, Diana Alvarez, and the main suspect in her disappearance, Jorge Guerrero Torres.

Guerrero-Torres is currently in the Lee County jail, serving a federal sentence for possession of child *advertiser censored* while he awaits a trial at the state level for child molestation and battery with bodily fluid, all connected to allegations he inappropriately touched Diana Alvarez.
Alvarez, who vanished when she was just 9 years old, has been missing since May 2016.

New details brought to the family's attention reveal a jailhouse confession by Guerrero-Torres when he was initially questioned for her disappearance and taken into custody in Okeechobee.
"A lot of the items weren't revealed in federal court that will be in state court," the family's attorney explained. "The information coming to light is actually not new information, it was initiated in June 2016."

“I wasn’t expecting this news,” Hernandez said. “But I have to accept the reality.”

Through tears she spoke to reporters in Spanish about the decision. The mother has remained front and center in the case of her daughter’s disappearance and on Thursday she spoke about the pain of learning the state believes Diana is dead.

The mother was also visibly upset because no one told her about the state’s plan to convene a grand jury.

Hernandez said it was better to know than not know.

But closure was not on the mind of Hernandez. She said she is resigned to the decision but that she was upset she was not made aware of the decision to seek a murder indictment. She was never told by investigators or victims advocates that authorities believed her daughter was dead.

Grand jury procedures are “cloaked in secrecy,” said Thomas Busatta, an attorney who has been helping the family.

“Historically, the family knows it’s going to the grand jury for a first-degree indictment,” Busatta said. “It may not have been handled the wrong way, and the mother should’ve known.”

In Puebla, Mexico, Diana’s father watched the news conference that was broadcast online by the state attorney’s office but didn’t understand it very well because he is a Spanish speaker.

He began to cry on the phone when a reporter told him Guerrero-Torres was accused of killing Diana.

“I don’t know what is happening,” Martin Alvarez Moreno said. Puebla is in the southeast region of the country. “How do you want me to feel? Badly.”

I feel awful for the poor Mom. But I don't blame the investigators for keeping secrets about the Grand Jury and the upcoming charges. I think it gets messy and more difficult if the grieving family is told too much before everything is sorted out.

What if they told the family, and then the Grand Jury did not indict? That might have been even more painful. JMO
 
I think they could have at least said:
"We do believe he murdered your daughter and we are working towards getting justice for her."
Then told her he was indicted AFTER the grand jury, that's fine. No warning at all though?
She didn't even know they thought she was dead. It's not the grand jury part I have a problem with.
