Robin's disappearance is carried on a variety of missing persons' sites, but doesn't seem to have hit the newspaper. I found the following clips:

Most reports state rather sloppily that she disappeared from Weaverville. However, on the evening of 22 April 1995, Appel and her boyfriend were arguing as he drove towards Goldfield Campground near Trinity Lake, north of Weaverville. They stuck in the snow. While he began to dig the truck out, she left on foot at about 7 PM. Searchers found her fanny pack, sunglasses, and jacket. They followed a trail believed to be Denise's, but lost the spoor. Below, I have an overhead photo of the road into the campground. It seems most likely that they got stuck on this side road.
