AK - Track Palin arrested for 4th degree domestic assault

Track Palin was arrested after his mother called 911 and later told police her son was "freaking out and was on some type of medication," according to charging documents obtained by
the Anchorage Daily News.

"Medication", does that mean Track has a drug problem? Hope he gets the help he needs. Just cuz he's SP's kid, doesn't make him immune from the problems the rest of society has.

Guy has a real problem. His mother says he has PTSD but I read he never saw combat at all.

PTSD can be caused by other things than combat. I was going to write “like having a mother like Sarah Palin” but I am showing a great deal of self restraint and won’t write it ;)

No, but seriously, you can get PTSD from other types of traumatic events than to participate in combat. And then again he might just be a violent abuser of drugs and alcohol, no way to tell based on what is written in MSN.

From the Anchorage Daily News:

Wasilla police came to the Palin home Saturday after Sarah Palin called just after 8:30 p.m. to say her son was "freaking out and was on some type of medication," according to a sworn affidavit filed in court by Wasilla officer Adam LaPointe.

Track Palin came to the house to confront his father over a truck he wanted to pick up, according to the affidavit. Todd Palin told his son not to come because he'd been drinking and taking pain medication.
...
Todd Palin told the officer he got his pistol to "protect his family" and met his son with the gun when he came to the door, according to the affidavit.
...
As police arrived, they saw two vehicles leaving the home: Todd Palin was in the first, and officers could see blood running down his face, LaPointe wrote.

Sarah Palin, in the second, was "visibly upset," he wrote. Officers learned Track Palin was alone in the house, and they could hear yelling coming from inside.
...
"Track stood on the porch," LaPointe wrote. "Communication was attempted which failed due to Track yelling and calling myself and other officers peasants and telling us to lay our guns on the ground before approaching the residence."

Palin walked back in and the officers saw him moving around, the affidavit states. Then he came out an upstairs window onto the garage roof.

"He moved around in a strange manner and assumed a prone position just behind the roof line in what appeared to be an attempt to locate officers on the property," LaPointe wrote.

He went back inside, the officer wrote, but communication was re-established after 10 or 15 minutes of silence and Palin came back outside to talk.
...
At the time of his arrest Saturday, Palin was serving two years of probation on a plea deal stemming from a January 2016 domestic violence arrest at the family home.

More at the link. In August 2016 Track cut a deal for a domestic violence arrest in January. His case was transferred to Anchorage Veterans Court, which helps vets through treatment for substance abuse. According to the stipulations:

Track Palin will have to complete a regime of "alcohol-related" treatment under the terms of this week's agreement, Fitzgerald said. Upon successful completion of the treatment, the weapons-misconduct charge will be expunged from his record. But if that doesn't happen, Palin will receive a 180-day suspended jail sentence and be placed under informal probation for two years.
...
Details of Track Palin's treatment regime were still being worked out following a Tuesday evaluation, Campion said. Although the nature of his program will remain confidential between him and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, prosecutors retain the option to revisit the case if Palin doesn't complete its requirements.

"We'll get constant status reports and updates on his progress," Campion said.

As of October 2016 Trak hadn't signed on to the treatment program. His latest arrest notes he is currently serving two years' probation from the 2016 arrest so it appears he never completed the treatment program.

And in September 2016 Track started a fight with his younger sister's ex-boyfriend, which turned into a huge brawl. The prosecutor didn't go forward with any charges.

The entire Palin family is highly dysfunctional IMO and whether it's PTSD, drug related or mental illness that causes Track to lash out he needs to be brought under control and sequestered from society until he no longer poses a threat to others or himself. MOO.

Sarah Palin’s son pleads not guilty to burglary in assault case against dad
by Associated Press

PALMER, Alaska — Sarah Palin's oldest son pleaded not guilty Monday to a felony charge in the case accusing him of assaulting his father at the family's Alaska home last month.

He has pleaded guilty to a burglary charge, but what about beating on his poor father's head?

It sounds like this young man is quite dangerous.

Veterans Court judge allows reporters, bans cameras at Palin's hearings

Track's case has been moved from Palmer to Anchorage's Veterans Court, an alternative court program for veterans focused on rehabilitation, accountability and treatment, rather than jail time.

The criminal complaint alleges Track had been drinking while on painkillers when he entered the family's home through a window and assaulted his father.

Palin is expected to enter his plea next Monday.

Track Palin was formally accepted into a diversion court program Tuesday after assaulting his father, the former first gentleman of the state of Alaska, so severely it left him bleeding from the head.

The change of plea will allow him to take part in Alaska's Veterans Court, a therapeutic diversion program intended to rehabilitate veterans.

If he completes the program, he will serve 10 days in jail. But under the plea agreement, if he doesn't complete the Veterans Court program, he will serve a year in jail.

Palin's Son Moves to Veterans Court Program After Assaulting Father

Track Palin will spend a year in custody — likely in a halfway house — after being disqualified from the therapeutic Veterans Court as a result of new assault allegations.

Veteran Court DA Allen says he asked for Palin to be remanded into custody in court today, but the judge agreed to allow Palin time to get his affairs in order. He will be remanded to Cordova House on the morning of Oct. 31. Where he serves his time will be decided by the Department of Corrections.

Palin's pretrial proceedings for his latest arrest are set to begin Nov. 26 at the Palmer Courthouse.

**Track Palin has been charged with assaulting a “female acquaintance” at his Wasilla home and resisting Alaska State Troopers as they tried to arrest him.

After assaulting the person Saturday night, Palin, 29, prevented her from calling authorities by taking away her phone, Alaska State Troopers said in a press release.**

Oh. What. A. Surprise.

Seriously, he's dangerous and it's time he stops getting a pass for his violent behavior. He's going to end up killing someone or else get himself killed.

After following Ashley Johnson Barr's case I think it's an overall problem in Alaska. MOO.
