Cameron now saying that Millard died sometime between 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Nov. 29. She says in that time, Dellen Millard was at the home, pointing to his phone records, and the testimony of Marlena Meneses.
by Adam Carter 10:44 AM

Cameron is now trying to preemptively counter an argument she thinks will come from Millard's lawyer in his closing, where he will say Marlena Menses was a liar. "Marlena is a truthful witness," Cameron says.
by Adam Carter 10:46 AM

Cameron says everything Meneses testified to here is corroborated by other evidence.
by Adam Carter 10:47 AM

Cameron says Millard's lawyer is going to say the night Meneses testified about Millard sleeping over happened on another night -- not Nov. 28.
by Adam Carter 10:49 AM

Cameron now showing every call Millard made to Pizza Pizza or Pizza Nova from his cell phone. There are dozens of calls. "There is only one call to Pizza Pizza from Oakville, that entire year. It just so happens to be on November 29, 2012, at 12:36 a.m.," Cameron says. "This is the night Wayne died."
by Adam Carter 10:51 AM

Cameron is going through this exercise to back up Meneses' testimony.
by Adam Carter 10:52 AM

Cameron says Millard's movements are corroborated by his phone records.
by Adam Carter 10:52 AM

So which phone are these records from? This is so frustrating. I've said all along that it would only make sense for him to leave his Iphone, his main phone, to create an alibi and take the Samsung burner for his calls to the cab company. And they searched through a year of calls. I would imagine it would have been the Iphone. But RP got MM to state that it was the Samsung left behind. I think we're going to be hearing more about this when RP does his closing.

Cameron is now running through Millard's phone records from that night. You can read about that in depth here:
Phone records place Dellen Millard at father's home the day he died, Crown says

Cameron now pointing to how "strange" it is for Millard to leave his car in Oakville and go on a "secret date." She says this was an attempt by Millard to "bolster his alibi" by leaving his phone and credit card in Oakville.
by Adam Carter 10:55 AM

"Why does he leave his main phone behind? That doesn't make any sense," Cameron says.
by Adam Carter 10:56 AM

Cameron says Millard's second phone was activated on Nov. 1, 2012. That's the day Wayne Millard got the MRO certificate for his business -- and Cameron says that's a business "Dellen Millard didn't want" and that timing was "no coincidence." She says Millard's inheritance money was being "funnelled out" for that business.
by Adam Carter 10:58 AM

Cameron says Millard had to wait around for his father to fall asleep before shooting him. "If he had nothing to hide, he would have told the police about his whereabouts," Cameron says.
by Adam Carter 10:59 AM

Cameron now talking about motive. She says it centres around "freedom, control, power and money."
by Adam Carter 11:01 AM

"Dellen Millard did not like what Wayne Millard was spending his money on," Cameron says. "Wayne Millard was spending his money creating a legacy for Dellen Millard that he didn't want."
by Adam Carter 11:02 AM

Wow...just wow. That screams pre-planning and a motive to me.

"He was concerned about his inheritance being spent on a huge new business venture that he didn't want," Cameron says. She's now pointing to the fact that Dellen Millard fired everyone and dumped the MRO licence right after his father's death. "With Wayne out of the way, [Dellen] didn't have to run a business he didn't want," Cameron says.
by Adam Carter 11:04 AM

Cameron is now running through Millard's texts with Matthew Ward Jackson -- a GTA weapon's dealer who he bought guns from. The Crown says he bought the gun used to shoot his father from Ward-Jackson.
by Adam Carter 11:05 AM

"His DNA was on the grip," Cameron says.
by Adam Carter 11:06 AM

"There is no evidence that Dellen Millard gave this gun to Wayne Millard ... Dellen's gun shot and killed Wayne," Cameron says.
by Adam Carter 11:06 AM

Since the judge pointed out to the Crown that she had no evidence for the financial information, can we assume that because the onus is not on the defence to prove anything, she will let them just go on and on with their closing without interruption? Even though they presented no evidence to back up anything they are likely to say?

"And why does he have a gun? Why does Dellen Millard used to buy a gun? Guns are used to kill people. There's no evidence of him needing a gun for some other reason." Cameron says.
by Adam Carter 11:08 AM

"Dellen Millard had the motive, means, and opportunity to kill his father," Cameron says. She adds he kept all this from police.
by Adam Carter 11:09 AM

Cameron says there are other "curious things" Millard did when he says he found his father's body -- like not touching his father's body, and not trying to perform CPR. "I submit he would have touched him in some way," Cameron said. "Well the paramedic didn't touch him either," the judge interjects. She has jumped in on Cameron's closing several times.
by Adam Carter 11:11 AM

Cameron says this is "very strange behaviour" that "conjures up a feeling of guilt ... It's just another odd and unnatural thing to do when one finds his father dead."
by Adam Carter 11:12 AM

She also says it doesn't make sense for Millard to call his mother before calling 911.

As WMs money was being “funnelled out” for the business, he had to have at least an inkling of DM’s offside behaviour to indicate his son had no interest in it. Yet Cameron portrays WM as “happy”. I don’t see how that could be. If WM was utterly UNhappy because of DM, came down hard on him, that’d also be motive for murder.

Yup, they will provide all kind of hidden as their opinion. Miracle forest or whatever.

Cameron is now pointing to statements Millard made to police that she says were false. One is the location of his dog, Pedo. The other is about "sometimes sleeping at Mark's."
by Adam Carter 11:14 AM

Cameron also pointing to a text from Millard to Smich, just after he was interviewed by police. "Just left the station. They took your name, but not your number. Love you bro," the text reads. Cameron says this is Millard "shoring up his alibi."
by Adam Carter 11:17 AM

Now taking a 20 minute morning recess.

So why have we only heard about 2 times? Where are the other media outlets and why didn't they send anyone for the final day when they sent them for the opening?

Can someone clarify this in simple terms? If DM is found not guilty he keeps the inheritance and others can sue him ...If he is found guilty he loses it> therefore no money left to sue for? Is this correct?

My thoughts exactly.

This is by far the weakest case the Crown has presented against DM. Cameron says it's common sense that WM didn't shoot himself just by looking at the picture, and I agree, however, how did all these so called seasoned and trained professionals miss the boat and rule suicide? Crown needed to hit this point home with more than one witness whose evidence was thrown out.

After the closure and eventual sale off Millardair its no longer clear how much of an inheritance is left, if any, because millions of dollars were lost.

But if there is, yes DM is entitled to it if found not guilty and the Bosma family has already filed a lawsuit. If he’s convicted he losses entitlement and estate proceeds would be disbursed through the courts to WMs other living relatives.

I was watching the 5th Estate show about Millard yesterday. There was a clip from the guy that discovered Bosma's truck in the hanger and he said that he knew that there had been a lot of friction between DM and WM regarding DMs spending habits and that WM had threatened to cut him off. I wonder why none of that was mentioned in any of the trials?
