It is the general habit of Australian police forces, and most likely , all police forces, to always have handy a certain sort of warrant held ' in reserve', that is, not served up to the person of interest, but held for a particular time, or event, when producing the warrant has a lot of impact on the timetable of the police force involved.

A perfectly legitimate operation.

What Ant could have done to avoid this was, perhaps, pay his fines to the Sherriff, do his community hours, turn up for his re educational courses, write apology notes, show some sort of willingness to co-operate in various investigations by police, not waste police time, obey police instructions at crucial times...

you know. all the usual stuff that people know to do, instead of jibbing and digging heels in..

See what happens when you don't pay your 'parking fine'...

‘The court was told Rickard is a witness in the death of his stepmother Ms Ristevski and police had been attempting since May to serve him a witness summons for the case.’

‘Police allege Rickard agreed to meet with Missing Persons Squad officers on July 13 but never appeared and did not return calls or texts from officers.’

Not willing to stand by all that vitriol? Credible witness - not.

Funny thing is....

I can say some pretty bad stuff against my relo's

But come hell or high water ..... I still defend them if anyone else speaks badly of them....

It must be some quirk in my nature .... can't explain it.

I feel for all involved.... can't be easy on any of the family members to be put in this position.

Vkasko is probably out in his woodshed practicing his testimony even as I type. Along with Mrs Vlasko, who has flown under the radar, mostly.

Antony... . what a ratbag, and it will be interesting to see just how much of the court's time he can waste, and still say nothing relevant. They might have to let him tie off and shoot up, just a tad , to even get him into the witness box, he may not be able to do it stone cold.

I would like to see Ant stagger out of the horse float that brings in the hostile witnesses held on bail to the Bourke St Court.. they only have to cross the road from the remand centre, but it is a whole other circus in itself, it's like watching a parade of the absolute dimmest people you could even hope to see gathered in one place, all being escorted, one at a time , into the bowels of the court.

And what outrageous clobber will Ant array himself in for the big moment?

Yes I was listening to ABC radio awhile ago and they did say she would be a witness for the prosecution.
But could she be a hostile witness?

and

Sarah can be hostile. Up to a point. There comes a time when she either has to comply with the Prosecutor, or face contempt charges.

It seems obvious that her legal advice has been along the lines of her having nothing whatsoever to gain by appearing for the defence, and it is reasonable to assume that the Prosecution has some sort of leverage over Sarah, and I am mighty curious as to what it is.

At what point she will refuse to answer the prosecution examination is crucial, and I wonder it if will make things clearer, or murkier. Because there is something murky going on in this family dynamic, long term deep murkiness, of a peculiar nature.

The point of having someone declared a hostile witness by the court is that they can then be cross-examined by their own side. Normally, the prosecution would not be able to question a prosecution witness in a way that challenges the witness's evidence.

I don't think she has been 'declared' hostile, as such.. I merely claim that she can be hostile, if she wants to be, up to a point. An agreed point, as far as the Prosecutor is concerned.

Big question.. does Borce get to tootle off to the court , a bit of a tiny tour of William St, or will he be securely behind a video screen? 4 weeks of Borce being guarded in the court is a bit of an expensive item on the budget.
