GUILTY New Zealand - Kim Richmond, 42, Te Awamutu, Waikato, 31 July 2016 *Arrest*

Very sad situation if it's what we suspect. It's Kim's funeral tomorrow.

A trial date has been set:

"... scheduled July 23 next year as the start date for a two-week trial."

I originally heard this on the radio this morning, at the conclusion of which I thought I heard the reporter say the accused has been released on bail, being monitored electronically. Thinking I'd heard that incorrectly - why, oh why???!!!!! - I see from another media report that this is indeed the case:

I'm feeling very sad for Kim's loved ones. I really can't get my mind around what circumstances would warrant him bail. If this was a mercy killing of sorts then yes, maybe, but the fact is this *** stayed silent for a very long time about what became of her - what he did to her!

 :banghead:

If he'd confessed in the beginning, I think he had a good chance of getting off with manslaughter, probably pushing his luck now.

A very sad case.

Her final heartbeat was tracked by her Fitbit. As was his cellphone movements as he walked home after ditching the car, with Kim deceased inside.

He has admitted manslaughter, but on trial for murder. She was having an affair with her neighbour and he had said he wanted to kill her for it on several occasions.

They had 3 children. How you could live with killing the mother of your children is beyond me.

I suspect he only confessed to killing her yesterday
