Crash outside parliament in London being investigated as act of terrorism

LONDON -- A motorist slammed into pedestrians and cyclists near Britain's Houses of Parliament on Tuesday and police are treating the incident as an act of terror.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of terrorist offences after the silver Ford Fiesta collided with rush-hour commuters before slamming into a barrier. Two people were hurt, but authorities said none of the injuries is life-threatening.

Armed police swooped into the area, cordoning off streets surrounding the heart of Britain's government. Police appealed to the public to stay away, and the Westminster subway station was closed.

Several eyewitnesses said the driver's actions were deliberate."

An officer from the Catalan regional police force shot a man dead at around 6am on Monday morning after he entered a police station in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona) carrying a knife and shouting “Allahu Akbar” (Allah [God] is the greatest). The man, named as Abdelouahab Taib, was “intending to attack the officers,” according to a statement published by the police on Twitter.

Comes explained that the man, aged 29 and of Algerian origin, turned up at the police station and insisted that he wanted to “make an inquiry.” The officer who was at reception, behind a glass screen, opened the door for the man who, according to Comes, had “clearly homicidal intentions and was determined to attack people.” The man, the police chief added, was carrying a knife of “considerable dimensions.”

ISIS later claimed the attack.

But ISIS or no ISIS is largely irrelevant. Stabbing attacks in the name of a prophet on persons who do not adhere to that cult, should be classified as terrorism per se, in what is best described as a low-impact civil war.

In his first purported speech in nearly a year, the leader of ISIS has called on followers to fight on despite recent defeats, according to an audio recording posted on the militant group's media outlet.

In the 55-minute statement, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi congratulated the "striking lions" behind recent attacks in Canada and Europe, and called on followers to use bombs, knives or cars to carry out attacks.

Baghdadi also offered greetings to Muslims for Eid al-Adha, a feast celebrated this week, suggesting the message was recorded recently.

What happened on the morning of Thursday 23 August in Trappes, in the Yvelines? A man stabbed his mother and sister, who lost their lives, and a third person, who was seriously injured. Armed men, aircrafts and numerous ambulances in a pavilion district, normally so quiet, which has been completely sealed off. The neighbors are in shock.

9:30 this Thursday morning, two victims lie on the ground in the middle of the street. The assailant hid in the family home. Called by the neighbors, the police arrive at the scene. With the cry of "Allah akbar", the man threatens the officials. Knife in hand, he comes out and challenges the police. After several summons, the officers shot him. Opportunism or not, the Islamic state group claimed responsibility for the attack a few minutes later, but the interior minister does not believe in the terrorist motives of the attacker. All day long, the Versailles (Yvelines) judicial police searched for the slightest clue to understand the assailant's motive.

Because his mother and sister were among the victims, the French authorities do not believe in a terrorist motive. As if Jihadists, or those inspired by ISIS islamic ideology never kill their own kin. (Spoiler: they do.) The fact that this triple murder (the third victim died too) happened the day after the call for action with bombs, knives or cars from the leader of ISIS should worry everyone.

Too many confused Islamic men have gone on stabbing sprees lately.

Police reckon with terrorist motives in the Amsterdam CS stabbing

The man who stabbed two people on Friday afternoon may have had a terrorist motive. The Amsterdam police announced this on Friday evening.

The knifeman is a 19-year-old Afghan with a German residence permit. The police do not yet have a clear picture of the exact motivation of the man, who was shot 'in his abdomen' when he was arrested. He is being interrogated in hospital. The police also have intensive contact with the German authorities about the man's background.

At noon, the Afghan stabbed two people in the west tunnel of Amsterdam's Central Station, after a turmoil had occurred. Rapid policemen shot the suspected perpetrator when he fled. The two victims were seriously injured by the stabbing, but were outside mortal danger, according to the police.

The terrorist attack on Amsterdam Central Station yesterday happened before the eyes of florist Richard Snelders. His security camera recorded everything. "I think we were lucky that there were no more victims.

Thanks to the images from his security camera, Richard is able to tell pretty precisely what happened yesterday afternoon. He has seen the video of the stitch a few times.

It all happened at the NS information desk, Richard tells us. The suspect, who now turns out to be a 19-year-old Afghan with the name Jawed S, walked up to the information desk quite calmly. It was busy there at the time. "There was a large group of people," Richard says.

The suspect 'wandered around a bit first' near the counter, Richard tells. Several people walked away, including an NS employee, until three people remained. "Then he took a knife out of his bag and suddenly stabbed that man in his back. The knife was quite large. He fell down immediately."

Then the Afghan stuck another man in his hand. That man ran away, turned around a pillar, returned and, bleeding, ran into Richard's shop. The perpetrator ran after him, or at least in the same direction. But he did not get far. "Within no time, the police were there. I think everything only lasted a little over 30 seconds."

Three shots sounded. The Afghan was hit in his lower body. The victim was already safe in Richard's shop at that time. "He was wounded in his hand and in his arm. Blood poured out of it all". The other victim was still lying on the floor, his wife was standing next to him. "That woman was in total panic, she was screaming."

This reminds me of what happened here on 4 July. There are two expat groups for Americans living/working here in Sofia - Bulgaria and a member of one of them emailed us all -over 3,000 members of lots of different nationalities- giving full details of location for the 4 July party they were organizing. He also published the event on our FB page which happens to be public. A Bulgarian man told him to be careful not to give so much information online as this could give psycho radicals some ideas -a huge venue packed full of Americans and those with family/business ties to the country...- and it surprised me that the American man could not understand why this could be dangerous.

Americans are much more at risk that citizens of other countries; this is a reality so please always check your surroundings and do not give too much information on where you stay while traveling, especially in countries where there could be some radical Muslims.

Knifeman is arrested after injuring seven people in rampage through central Paris | Daily Mail Online

Two British tourists were among seven wounded after an Afghan man carrying child immigration documents went on a knife rampage through Paris.

The attacker, who is aged in his 30s, stabbed three people outside a cinema in the north-east of the city just before 11pm, fled, then stabbed four more before being arrested.

At one point petanque players threw metal boules at the man in an attempt to disarm him, hitting him four times in the head, but were unable to stop him.

'He is unconscious in hospital in Paris, and has not spoken since the attack, but he was carrying immigration documents issued to an Afghan minor,' said a source close to the investigation.

Officers said the man targeted strangers during his rampage but there is no link to terror at this stage.

Dear authorities, take a look at the victims and determine if they qualify as so called 'unbelievers' ? A stabbing spree by a person carrying the ID of an Afghan minor IS terrorism by definition, inspired by the religion that has a defamatory name for people who do not adhere to their creed plus written and oral instructions to knife them to death (preferably).

He may of course have mental problems, but however mental, there is probably a system in it.

Not sure if the papers he had on him were his ID.

Four persons have been severely wounded and are still in hospital.

"THE HAGUE, Netherlands - Seven men were arrested Thursday in the Netherlands on suspicion of plotting a large-scale extremist attack that Dutch prosecutors said they think was foiled following a months-long investigation.

The national prosecutor's office said in a statement that heavily armed police arrested the men in the towns of Arnhem, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) south of Amsterdam, and Weert in the southern Netherlands close to the borders of Germany and Belgium.

The investigation was launched by intelligence suggesting the alleged ring leader, a 34-year-old man of Iraqi heritage, wanted to carry out an attack at the site of a large event and cause multiple casualties, according to the statement.

The suspects allegedly wanted to use bomb vests and assault rifles to do harm at the event, and planned to detonate a car bomb at another location, prosecutors said. An investigation of potential targets was continuing.

Prosecutors said the suspects ranged in age from 21 to 34. Three of them, including the 34-year-old Iraqi, were previously convicted of attempting to travel overseas to join extremist networks."
