GUILTY TX - Sheriff: U.S. border patrol agent suspected of killing 4 women, 15 Sept 2018

Arrest documents for 'serial killer' U.S. Border Patrol agent in Texas reveal new details

Ortiz is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful restraint and four counts of murder.

...

September 3: Melissa Ramirez
According to court records, Ortiz told authorities he picked up Ramirez in Laredo and drove out of city limits when he stopped the car so Ramirez could urinate on the side of the road.

That's when Ortiz shot Ramirez. ...

...

September 13: Claudine Ann Luera
Ortiz told investigators he picked up Claudine Ann Luera and that as they drove out of the city, Luera became nervous and accused Ortiz of being the last person to see Ramirez.

Court documents state Ortiz pulled over and shot Luera multiple times. ...

...

September 14: Victim escapes from Ortiz
The affidavit states Ortiz picked up a woman and took her to his house. The woman said Oritz began to "act weird" whenever she brought up Ramirez's death, as they both knew her.

She said she became sick and vomited in Ortiz's front yard before Ortiz's took her to a gas station.

During the drive to the gas station, the woman said she brought up Ramirez's murder again and that Ortiz pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her.

She said she began screaming for help. ...

...

September 15: Ortiz kills "John Doe," "Jane Doe" in separate incidents
Ortiz told deputies that after the woman escaped at the gas station, he picked up an unknown woman from an underpass in Webb County and later told her to get out of his truck.

He told deputies he shot the woman several times. ...

...

Later, Ortiz picked up a person authorities initially described as a transgender woman ... Ortiz, documents state, told the man to get out of the truck and shot him...

hi eu

man

this sounds awful

however

it appears there is no motive or want other than to shoot people

this is just bizarre

most of the time there is some need being met

Still nothing in court site at Webb County.... It IS Webb County, right?

I think he was paying for their services. one link said that the victim that had escaped knew him for a few months and it was normal for her when he offered to pay her for sex. idk what made him start killing them tho. he said he didn't like sex workers and wanted to get rid of them yet he was partaking so im going to go w hatred for women.

Just looked again & he still is not in Webb County court site....

I put in his name - nothing, so I just put in his last name, still nothing.

Here's an article I got this morning. Nothing much new though.

Exclusive: Border Patrol 'serial' killer suspect may have used government weapon in killings

Looks like he wants his bond reduced....

Border Patrol Agent Accused in Killing of 4 Seeks Release

LAREDO – The attorney for the Laredo Sector Border Patrol agent who authorities said confessed to four homicides is requesting a bond reduction.

Juan David Ortiz’s attorney, Jose Salvador Tellez, submitted a writ of habeas corpus seeking bail reduction on Monday, Oct. 15.

Ortiz is held on a combined $2.5 million bond after authorities said he confessed to killing four people in a span of two weeks.

Telles stated they believe Ortiz’s detention is illegal because confinement and restraint without probable cause is a violation of his constitutional rights. The court document states the bond is excessive, oppressive and beyond what Ortiz can afford to pay.
[.....]
A hearing was granted and is scheduled to take place in Laredo’s 111th Judicial District Court on Oct. 17. There, the state is expected to show cause to continue detaining Ortiz.

Ortiz remains on indefinite leave without pay, as per the agency.
