Meet the Englishman who donned a tweed suit and bounced his way across the Alps – on a space hopper

As adventures go, few are as overblown as the one embarked upon recently by one Steven Payne, who most definitely has a yen for the eccentric.

For the former physics teacher from Chichester managed to traverse the Alps – on a space hopper.

That’s right, the rubber ball with handles.

OMG a hippoty hop! We had these as children in the 70s but the handles were different. I have not seen one in years, thanks for the great memories!

Awww amazing, good for him! I went home to England earlier this year and my family are near Chichester. I couldn't believe how many people were rough sleeping. Chichester is a fairly affluent area. What a great thing to do to raise awareness, as well as taking the man for a pub lunch in the first place. The world needs more like him!!
